Melissa Whitley-Huff reviewed Ohio Brush Creek Hiking Trail (Serpent Mound)

This was a nice little walk while visiting Serpent Mound.

Melissa Whitley-Huff reviewed Gorge to Deer Trail (Fort Hill)

We took Gorge Trail in and did some of the earthcaches while hiking. We picked up Deer Trail to return to the parking lot. This is one of the prettiest hikes in the area. We saw spring flowers, deer, and our first butterfly of the year on this hike. Lots of rock outcroppings and scenic views. We had a 10 & 4 year old with us and they held up very well on this hike. If you use hiking staffs, be sure to take them on this one. There are some steep areas with narrow trails in some spots.

We hiked this one today. My husband used the MapMyHike gps based app which showed the hike to be 4.25 miles, rather than the 2.5 miles that is listed at the link below. It's not as strenuous as the nearby Buzzardroost hike. But, it will still give you a workout. There's some areas where the trail is very near the side of the cliffs so be careful with kids on this trail. Our 7 yo was with us today and she held up very well.

We hiked this last fall. We parked at the boathouse and walked to the campgrounds and back. Found some empty snake eggs and lots of buzzards on this trip.

We hiked this trail last fall. We liked that it showed a lot of the park as it is one of the central most trails.

We hiked this trail last fall. We liked the variety of trees and lake views throughout the hike. We camped in the family cabins and did this one early in the day. There is a small loop at the beginning, so we went on one part of the loop going and came out another just to see the entire trail.

My husband and I hiked this one yesterday and it's more like 5.6 miles there and back. He used the Mapmyhike APP to see how far it really would be in and out. There are several geocaches along the trail, for those of you who also do caching while hiking.

Here's a good link with topographic map and information about the hike.

We did a small portion of the trails last summer. Had to call a halt due to it getting dark but plan to return to do more hiking there. There are geocaches on some of the trails.

We walked a portion of this trail (2 miles) last summer with our 3 children. There were some very narrow and steep sections of trail, which caused a little concern for us for our youngest. We probably wouldn't advise this to anyone with young children. Some areas were not well kept. However, it was nice and quiet. I don't think we saw any other hikers on the trail. Of course, it was a pretty warm day. At the time, there was a geocache on the part of the trail that we hiked.

We hiked almost everyone of these trails. There was only one loop that we didn't get to due to rain on the last day and we had planned the hike for that time. We stayed in one of the cabins and hiked in the morning and evening with our 3 children. My youngest was nearly 4 yo at the time and she kept up very well. Don't miss all the steps down and back up at the dam.

This is a short, fairly easy hike. One loop requires uphill / downhill walking around a nature preserve. There are markers around the walk with information about flowers and animals. The other trail is paved and is fine for bikes and scooters, which my kids used. There is a geocache on the grounds if you are interested in caching.

Although the title doesn't say it, I believe this is the Wolf Cave trail. This trail is mostly downhill to the cave and the twin bridges and then uphill on the way out. We did this one with our 3 yo last summer and she did fine but need a nap afterwards. The cave is about 1/2 way and is a nice spot to give the kids a break and a snack. The cave was off limits last year due to a fungus, White-nose bat syndrome.

Melissa Whitley-Huff reviewed Mccormicks Creek Trail

McCormick's Creek has quite a few trails that can be done individually or combined. We camped in one of the family cabins and did the trails individually due to having 3 kids with us. The cabins are very inexpensive, but nice for the price. We probably liked the Wolf Cave trail the best. There are also several geocaches in the park for those interested in that, as well.

We didn't hike all the trails. We did hike along the biking trail and we were also geocaching while there. There are quite a few geocaches along that trail. It was a nice hike and our 3 yo did fine on it.
