Fun hike, but AllTrails has the distance wrong. According to my app the hike was 4.73 miles from the parking lot to the base of the waterfall and back and 1620 ft of elevation gain.

Hike is nice and shady most of the way, but steep. Great views of the valley when you get to the top and the falls are fantastic. Also dog friendly!

Fun way to see some of the best views of the park. It's very hot, though... bring water!

Wouldn't say this trail is hard, probably moderate. Mostly because of the heat (whew!) and the bugs. Bring bug spray and lots of water.

Great hike! Not too difficult and the views along the way are fantastic. The destination is well worth it and a great place to stop and have lunch.

Beautiful view and lots of wildlife for a relatively easy hike. We went in July and there was still quite a bit of snow, would recommend good shoes, pants, and hiking poles.

Nice trail with great view! Combinations of deep sand and rocks. After the overlook there are a few nice trails to get back to the parking lot.

Nice trail for horses with good views of the rock layers. Pretty flat.

Nice trail, a few steep parts make it a good workout for you (or your horse!). I would recommend going in the early spring so it's not too hot since there isn't a lot of shade.

Absolutely beautiful island. The wildlife and the views of the lake are stunning. You can hike pretty much anywhere around the island and there are a few lookout points that are nice. Also a great place to bring dogs since it's so open.

However, do NOT go during bug season! I thought September would be late enough to avoid the bugs but I was wrong. I have never seen so many bugs! At night the swarms were so dense we couldn't do anything, including eat dinner or hang out outside of our tent. Would definitely recommend going when there are less bugs, maybe later in the season.

A very easy and flat trail above the city skyline. Nice view and great for a family hike, but not especially adventurous.
