Megan Walsh saved Mount Shaw & Black Snout

Thankfully we read the comments from other hikers so we were mindful of what to expect. Trails are not well maintained but luckily we found ourselves only having to backtrack a couple times. We followed the green/red blazes up until it met up with the blue ones. And then turned back and followed that for the way back. Overall, it’s a good workout with great views along the way.

Would highly recommend this trail for any levels, with the understanding that it is moderately steep very quickly in and through the entire length of the trip up. Views are worth it!

Great hike and would recommend. Most of the trail is rocky and some parts were slower to maneuver up (and down) with the dog, but she’s the superior hiker out of the 3 of us and was fine. Took about 2.5 up and 1.5 down.

I also wouldn’t classify this as an easy hike. Between the gradual but steady steepness and rock scrambles, this would be more fairly considered a moderate hike. We started at Willey House to Kedron Flume to Willey Range Trail.

It took us about 2 hours to hike up and about 1 1/2 to get down. Slippery in a lot of spots but the reward at the top was well worth the tougher than expected conditions. Would definitely recommend this hike!

This hike is just over 6 miles. It’s a climb right from the start, and doesn’t let up until well into the journey. We brought the pup and she didn’t have any trouble with the rock scrambles (there’s a few). It took about 2 hours up and 90 minutes down because of the wet conditions. Overall this is a great hike but not a lot to look at when you get to the top.

Great, steep trail. For a short(er) hike, the views are fantastic. Not a lot of summit “real estate”, but there wasn’t much foot traffic. Would highly recommend this trail!

This was amazing and challenging hike and the trail was well marked. It was somewhat steep in sections, but you get breaks along the way. Ultimately not a ton of effort for the rewarding views! Also there wasn’t a lot of fellow foot traffic which made for a peaceful summit.
