Nice wide dirt trail. I completely agree, if you do this route clockwise, the steepest part is within the first 3 miles. However, the reward was getting to the top and looking down into several different valleys.

Nice place to hike bc most trails loop back to where they started. I hiked this route and decided to also do the Upper Tilly area to add another 1.75 miles or so. The only wildlife I saw were squirrels and blue jays. And plenty of mountain bikers.

Lovely open space hike. We encountered a couple steep ascents but not enough to call it a strenuous hike. Just a dirt path and an occasional paved road. Mountain bikers, hikers, trail runners and dogs were on the trails. When we got a little turned around all we did was hike back up and then could see clearly where we needed to get to.

Loved this trail and feeling high up. Felt like some trial maintenance along the way would have helped. Watch out for Mama cows. Sometimes they don't want to clear the trail for you to get by. Altogether, a great hike. We'll be back!

This trail has beautiful views along the steady climb. Lots of scrambling over rocks. Coming down at 2:30pm I encountered a rattlesnake whose rattle warning sent me yelping back up the hill in surprise. He must have been sunning himself on the trail. Otherwise, not much wildlife- just tiny lizards and a bird here and there.
