The hike is dog friendly and parking situation is not bad. The incline is pretty steady at the beginning for about a mile and then the climb is much steep. There are beautiful views throughout as you hike up further. The lake was bit underwhelming because it definitely looked much gorgeous in the pictures shared by other reviewers- although I didn’t have the same sentiment in person. That said the views throughout the hike were totally worth it.

This trail can be classified as easy beginner hike. The trail is dog friendly and offers great views of the falls. The lower falls are gorgeous and the closest you get to see them is from lower lookout. We moved on to upper lookout from there and arrived at a bridge where you see the upper falls. After this point the trail doesn’t end you can keep going further only to find no additional view points. If I do this again I would end the hike and turn back from the bridge itself. We did this on weekday and still it was quite crowded. Parking is limited. There is pay station in case you don’t have discover pass

This is a pretty easy trail taking you to awesome views of the cape. The parking is limited and this spot is very popular. Quite a drive if you are coming from Port Angeles. It was a bucket list item for me so I was ok to drive for 2.5 hours from Port Angeles. The views were totally worth it. Really pretty. Toilets are clean to use!

My favorite evening hike!!! Been here more that 3 times now. I love to be at the top before sunset. The lake is gorgeous from the top at that time. It’s a beginner hike that is also dog friendly. A must do for someone who is in the Seattle area for a short period! Parking is abundant in the evening hours and toilets are ok.

This is the best hike I have been to in this region. The Alpine lake hike rewards you with stunning lake and snow capped mountains. At the lake we spent some time swimming. Definitely arrive early as parking gets filled up quite soon. Washroom is available but have your sanitizers.

One of my favorite hikes in mount Rainier! The last mile is a steep gain in elevation and the view at the top is stunning. A must do beginner hike!! Mostly crowded to try to start early in the day. Make sure to go on a clear day as the view is totally dependent on that!!

This is one of the most dangerous hikes I have ever attempted. We went on a day when they had a rain forecast. The hike was all good until we reached the point where narrow trail starts with the chains. And it started raining at that point. I recommend taking pair of gloves if it rains. The chain becomes very cold due to water and it’s really difficult to hold on to it with bare hands. Moreover it get very slippery and muddy and adds to the challenge. We went very slow but ultimately made it to the top. We were drenched in rain but it was worth it :) Do not carry poles or any other stuff and keep your bag light. The trail is too narrow and you need to balance yourself with the help of chains.

Completed this hike in 2017 before the volcano erupted in the big island. It’s one of the most adventurous hike I have done!! Is very easy to not see the underlying lava if it’s too bright. It’s recommended that this hike is done in the evening. It was a sight to see people walking on lava covered rocks and hot steam beaming from around these rocks. A must do bucket list item when you are in Hawaii!!

This hike has stunning views at the top!! The clouds almost feel like touching you :) Totally worth it. Most of the trail is rocky and the last .5 miles is basically using all four limbs to climb up the rocks. For the most part, there’s no shade so try to start as early as you can. The parking area is also limited. Restrooms are not bad if you have your tissues and sanitizer.
