This is an incredible hike right in our backyard for anyone who lives in the sacramento area. Most hikes are pretty dull until the main scenic end but there's nothing dull about this trail. There's incredible views and sights in every direction and you're going to be saying, "wow" a lot. A few words of advice: Bring suncreen, get there early. You're completely exposed at the last few miles of the hike and the sun makes quick work at 10,000 feet. If you don't get there early enough you may not find parking. It's a very popular hiking trail. Also, at the peak, DON'T feed the wildlife and chipmunks. They seem to be overly tame and used to humans feeding them and will practically mob you if you give them anything. Have a good hike!

This is a VERY popular tourist destination in the summer months as tour companies carrying foreigners use this park to quickly show an iconic California tree. Traffic is heavy in and out of the park and parking is a nightmare at times. The park features a good selection of easy and moderate trails though more rigorous hikes require you to venture out far from the park's visitor center. The Ocean View - Panoramic - Redwoods - Sun - Dipsea Trail is a good loop trail around 5 miles in length weaving in and out of the redwoods with a good view of the entire forest. The trails are excellently maintained with many rails and bridges no doubt due to the many donations the park collects.

This was a mild trail with a very gentle incline but beware of mountain bikers that frequent the trail in the warmer months, especially around sudden corners. Wear good shoes as the second half of the trail is very rocky and is hard on the feet.
