Matthew Seymour reviewed Tuckerman Ravine Trail to Mount Washington

Tuckerman Ravine is like some foreign alien looking landscape! Absolutely nuts! The glacial cirque is truly a sight to behold. Once inside the bowl, you climb up the headwall, and then another push up a set boulder fields. A fun and very memorable climb! Then, you’ll see the parking lot and cars and craziness that is the top, and probably have to wait in line for a summit pic if that’s your thing. Any serious east coast hiker, would be remiss to have missed out on Mount Washington.

Crawford notch is beautiful and the views are great, like stated, but the amount of people was out of control. Felt like a tourist trap, and definitely not your typical hiking crowd. Once at the summit, walk to your right and through the woods a little and you’ll have your own rock ledge lookout away from the chaos.

Lots and lots of fun rock scrambling to the summit without any real exposure. Was lucky enough to have the entire summit to myself for over an hour. Views of the great range are unbelievable! Short hike with huge payoffs.

Matthew Seymour reviewed Giant Mountain and Rocky Peak Ridge Trail

Very rewarding hike all the way up and to the summit of Giant. The clouds were moving in and out as the sun was beginning to come out and it was a unique experience. Felt like we were above the clouds. The drop down to the col of rocky peak was very steep and unforgiving, and was also wet but well worth it when you get to the summit of Rocky Peak which was probably even better of a view than Giant.

I can see why this trail is so popular. It is easily accessible, pretty short, and without any difficult rock scrambling. Because of the fires in 1903 the summit is open and completely bald with an alpine feel without actually being an alpine zone. My dads first high peak, and although the easiest, still a high peak..he was hurting afterwards..

Matthew Seymour reviewed Mount Osceola and East Osceola

Gradual ascent up to Mount Osceola, nothing steep or technical. A couple bald granite spots...The drop down to the col of east Osceola is steeper terrain, but well worth the extra mile each way with open views along the ledges.

I can see why they call her the gentile giant. Very gradual elevation gain, with not a lot of scrambling, and a decent amount of above tree-line hiking. Pretty cool summit with 360 degree views on a clear day..

Lots and lots of fun scrambling, even a wooden ladder at about a 45 degree angle bolted into the rock face. It’s a pretty steep route, but because it’s only 2 miles or so up ,not too difficult if your a regular hiker. I did this after a storm and would have been better off doing it on a dry day as the descent can be slippery and is the trickiest part. Consider going down via lonesome lake trail if conditions aren’t ideal. Views at the top of the observation tower are unreal.

Lots of open areas with great views! Climb was on the easy side of moderate, but still on good rocky terrain for most of the loop. Very easy to go the wrong way the first mile or two, so heads up.
