This was a wonderful hike and a nice challenge. Despite the amount of snow that is still up there, a vast majority of it is completely avoidable. It is possible to glissade down the snow within the bowl along the climb to the ridge, but it is starting to become fairly rocky. There are also several amazing views of Red Pine Lake during the ascent to the ridge, as well as of the surrounding peaks and the valley from the top of Pfiefferhorn.

I hiked this loop this morning and enjoyed nearly every moment of it. There is a fair amount of overgrowth on the northern section of the loop that requires some bush whacking, but that doesn't detract from the spectacular views and abundance of wild flowers. I stayed south at the first fork to travel up Gobblers Knob before continuing along the ridge to Mount Raymond. The final scramble to the peak of Mount Raymond was a ton of fun and the view that greets you at the peak is very impressive. This trail was just enough of a challenge to make the hike that much more satisfying.

This was a great hike! Be sure to get an early start if you plan on hiking this trail any time over the next couple months. I decided to start my hike early in the morning and it still ended up being fairly hot by the time I got back to my car. The snow on the north slope wasn't much of an issue and should be gone within a couple weeks. Be prepared to work for it over the last bit of this hike, as it becomes fairly steep on the final push to the ridge. However, the payoff/view at the peak is more than worth it.
