This trail was more impressive than I expected, particularly the basin area below the arch and the arch itself, which is massive. The elevation change will get your heart thumping.

Nice quick hike. Easy to find. I really don’t get the asphalt paving. Just let people walk on earth.

Easy hike. Make sure to dip your toes in the falls.

Relatively flat trail with very nice waterfall at the end. You have to criss-cross the stream about 10 times along the way. If you go behind the falls and walk up to the right over the rocks the trail continues and you can go up on top of the falls.

Glad we went and super cool that there are neat little waterfalls right outside of Austin. Lots of little unmarked trails that made navigating slightly confusing even with a map.

Jackson Falls is better in my opinion. Burden is really easy to get to, with parking literally 10 feet away.

There are at least 2 ways down without rappelling. Look for the emergency kits. The ways down are near those. It’s really cool to be challenged to get to the base. Also we found a rock carving from 1861 right near the trail!

The scenery is unbeatable. We saw a mother and baby moose. If you are in Teton you HAVE to do Jenny Lake and Cascade Canyon trails!

We hiked to the fork in late September. The weather was perfect - mid 60s and sunny. A lot of folks head back after seeing Hidden falls. Don’t! At the very least walk about a mile past and into the canyon. The mountains looming over all is an astounding sight! Highlight of Teton!

Old Faithful is way too hyped up. Its predictably is about all that’s notable. Beyond that it’s jammed with bus upon bus of tourists who leaving thinking “that was it?”. My recommendation is to get away from the main events and hike to some waterfalls - Mystic, Fairy, Osprey. They are not difficult to get to and you’ll taste more of the ruggedness and beauty of Yellowstone.

Make sure to do the entire loop. If you start low, keep going up and up and up after you pass the falls. It’s a peaceful hike and chances are you won’t encounter many others. The view at the top is great.

This hike was the highlight of our Yellowstone trip primarily because we ended up walking 10 miles round trip and did not see a soul (except about 10 deer). Be careful on the last 1.5 miles as the trail isn’t maintained like the heavily trafficked trails and if you twist your ankle you’ll be down there a long time lol!

We hiked up Laura Cowles trail and down Sunset. Laura was more brutal than I expected. Be prepared to stop periodically and let your heart slow down! Lots of stretches of wet rock staircases. Very windy at the top. Sunset was not difficult to get down.
