Matthew Cuba reviewed Marymere Falls Trail

We got to the parking lot at 5:30 and it took us about 1 hour 15 minutes round trip. Late afternoon was a good time to visit - not crowded and the setting sun creates some beautiful views along the trail.

You may want some bug spray. The mosquitoes were not bad but there were some flying about. A little citronella insurance policy might serve you well.

The falls are pretty and you can get quite close. The two foot bridges are picturesque, particularly the narrow one made from logs.

Easy walking until you get to the bridges, then there is a short climb to the falls. I would suggest going left on the loop and coming back down time same way. The lower falls view is superior to the upper view and the path is easier.

    Definitely worth the time.

    A most excellent hike today.

The trail is well maintained and there is a lot to see. Deer and marmots were sighted along the trail at a number of points.

There were times when the cloud cover was heavy but it was countered by some great vistas.

    1. Wear layers. The temperature can vary during the hike. It was 48°F when we started.
    2. Watch for baby marmots - they pop up by their parents from time to time!
    3. There's a lot of Flora to observe on the way, including wild sage - it smells great!
