Very nice trail. Very great ending with a long bridge and marsh on either side of you. From bond park to green level church road is exactly 6 miles and is definitely worth the experience.

Good lake for being in the middle of Apex. Very busy however but well maintained with asphalt walking surface. There is currently construction nearby so very noisy at points. The dock is very nice and relatively new.

Great trail that offers a good overview of Raven rock state park as a whole. It includes rocky terrain, sandy terrain, muddy terrain, abundance of wildlife, heavily wooded areas, controlled burn areas, and even small meadows. This is a long trail and took all morning as there are elevation fluctuations but is one of the best. There are several creeks and even some very very small waterfalls that lead into the cape fear river. On this trail you can spot deer occasionally as well as raccoons, snakes, and several types of birds. Keep an eye out for the controlled burn areas as they show almost different ecosystems and are fascinating along the trails. This trail is definitely worth the time it takes and I recommend taking the Lanier falls trail which branches off about halfway and is only a .2 mile there and back trail but offers great views similar to the fish traps.

This was a great trail with a great ending point. The trail ends with a view of the fish traps and makes for a great resting point as well as a great photography spot. From here you are able to spot many different types of wildlife including birds, fish, and an abundance of frogs. The steps can be brutal to those tired from hiking other trails or those out of shape.

This was a good trail but lacks the highlight feature every other trail in Raven rock does. About 1/2 to 3/4 down the trail there is a grave about 30 feet off the trail on the right. This is the trail highlight (and also the inspiration of the trail name as Jesse Northington was buried in the early 1800s there). Very quiet trail and is seldom walked on.

Beautiful trail with great views of the cape fear river from the overlook. Once you go down the stairs you get to Raven rock where a magnificent rock face stretches. The rock formation is very out of place in the flat Piedmont of North Carolina. Very beautiful and worth the hike
