We took the trail counterclockwise. Going down the rough canyon offers gorgeous views. You’ll have to climb over several boulders with quite some drops! Don’t expect your usual trail. We had our dogs, Border Terrier and Belgium Malinous. They did ok for the most part. It’s about a 3.5 mile hike down and quite enjoyable. Going up however not so great. You are completely unprotected from the sun. We needed up on the trail where they drive with the Jeeps. Not sure whether there is another way. At the end we just wanted to be done.

This is a fun trail to hike. I recommend to hike it counterclockwise this way you have an easy or climb but you’ll have a pretty steep climb down where are you hike on a primitive trail. Be aware that you will experience a significant temperature drop once you get up. We had both of our dogs with us and it was fairly quiet on the trail

Pretty steep but nice hike. Also be ready for a temperature change as you go up the mountain. It took us about 1.5 h up and 35 min down. We ran down though. Beautiful views along the way and at the top. Trail is in good condition, well marked, and easy to follow. Certainly worth the effort!

Incredibly strong vortex combined with stunning views. It's a little bit of a climb to get up to the strongest point of the vortex. Once you're up there though you are rewarded with amazing views. We also hiked all around the belle along the rocks.

There is an entire trail system that leads through breathtaking scenery. We took that path that lead over the peak and down on the the side. Although the AllTrails map looks like the trail ends before it connects, no worries it connects. We went towards the evening and enjoyed the gorgeous colors when the sun started setting.

We went early October later in the afternoon. Most of the trail was already shaded which makes it a pretty easy hike. Make sure that you consider the closing time as they close the gate as well as have people coming from the end of the trail to ensure nobody stays past park closing. All in all a nice little hike. We didn't quite make it all the way to the end.

The trail is an easy walk of about an hour. The duration of your hike will mainly depend on how often you stop to capture the breathtaking landscape and the many wildflowers.

The trail mainly leads through shrubs. Along the way you constantly hear the bees humming. There is always a shaded section that lets you cool down. Still gets toasty, bring water.

Around halfway point is a short stretch where the trail goes up and especially down pretty steep. Shortly after you'll find yourself paving your way through a meadow, the trail almost disappears.

Tip: if you go to the spot where we started, that's the trail head with parking and restroom. It's right off of the main road. Not sure what the spot is that AllTrail has.

We walked to the cemetery from the 1800s. It is about 2.5 miles steady up the hill from the parking lot and a nice hike through the woods. We found it fascinating to see a cemetery in the middle of the forest. The trail is pretty wide all the way to where it splits to the cemetery than it becomes a more narrow path.

Make sure you visit the old mill as well. It's just across the creek before you get into the trail.

This is a nice narrow loop trail. It leads down hill to the lake for about 2.5 miles from the parking lot. After that it goes along the little creek for a bit and then up the hill pretty steep. All in all 4.7 miles from and to the parking lot.

To the point some of the other hikers made, we found the trail to be well marked and easy to follow. Also the trail head is easy to find. Just follow the directions.

We took the right loop 2nd alternate. It's about an 8 mile hike. The right loop is a small path wide enough for one person. We did the hike early April and were lucky not to meet a single person, horse or bike rider. A beautiful hike with a nice scenery overlooking the lake and through mostly wooded area.

We took the Indian Creek - Deep Creek Loop Trail, its about 13.5 miles.

This is a beautiful hike through a wooded area. The first six miles are all uphill. You gain about 1600 ft in elevation on your way up. We didn't meat many people once we were past the Indian Creek Waterfalls. Bring plenty of water. We went early April and the sun was hitting our back on the entire way up the mountain. Even after you hit the high point of the trail and it starts winding down the hill, there still is quite a bit of up and down. All in all a great hike. Too bad they don't allow pets.
