Nice trail through palmetto and oak forest. Peaceful place to walk and think. Going CW forest service road about first mile then single track rest of loop till rejoin main trail.

Trail runs along creek bed in heavy tree cover. No views to speak of but a nice place to get out for a short hike.

Beautiful winter hike. Snow-covered Trail but easy to navigate even without spikes or snowshoes. Lots animal tracks and solitude.

Great snowshoe hike and incredible views. Had the trail to ourselves despite bluebird skies and not so much wind. It is a doable hike for the snowshoe newbie but you will be tired after the 12+ mile out and back to the lake.

Nice mix of terrain, little bit of uphill but not too steep; streams, water crossings, and lots of dogs; trail conditions good with lots of steps and not too many loose rocks and exposed roots. Close to Denver location makes for an easy to reach outing and respite from the city. Good parking and restrooms at TH.
