Nice hike. We got there around 0915 and parking was tight, this was a fall morning. Trail is exposed, so bring a hat and make sure to wear sunscreen. Did the Paradise Falls trail with an added leg bypassing the water treatment plant down the valley. Neat to see a water fall in the LA area this time of year, and the hike along the creek was also pleasant. Lots of families, which is always nice to see. Also passed a couple mountain bikers. Plenty of options to extend your hike, and some great views throughout the hike.

A short but fun hike. We were lucky enough to have been chosen to participate in the Crack in Rock hike offered by the rangers-FANTASTIC HIKE, and thought we would check out the Pueblo while waiting for the group to gather. The ruins are fascinating, and there is a small ball court at this site. Surprisingly warm weather considering it had snowed the day before while we were in Flagstaff. Definitely worth visiting.

A fun little hike that follows the Virginia river up from the Zion NP visitor center to till its terminus at Zion Park Blvd. An easy hike that allows for views of the pink and red sandstone cliffs that are the hallmark of Zion National Park. Would have like to have had more time in Zion, and will be going back, however being the beginning of spring break the park was crazy crowded.

This trail is a good one to have on your bucket list. The trail descends into the canyon among the curious Hoodoo's. The descent and return ascent are strenuous, and it is a good idea to bring water. We did this hike in early spring when parts of the trail were covered with snow which was stunning in contrast to the deep reds of the hoodoos and canyon walls, the dark green of the evergreen trees and the bright crisp blue sky. The time of year we did this hike the trail seemed to be ours alone.

This little hike combines the beauty of Canyonlands with the amazing Mesa Arch. The arch frames the Canyonlands vista. The trail goes from the parking lot to the rim of the canyon at a point where an arch has been formed right at the rim of the canyon. Well worth the stop.

Beautiful hike that we started early. Should have taken the advice provided by other reviewers on All Trails, we hiked this loop trail clockwise and somewhere missed a sign and ended up further in the gardens than other tracks show and we didn't deem to go in as far NW as other tracks. That said, beautiful hike. There was a crisp blue sky which contrasted beautifully with the red rock and arches.

Fun hike that was interesting in contrast to Chaco Canyon and Mesa Verde. While I'm no expert on the ancient ones, Hovenweep seems to be a great addition to Chaco Canyon and Mesa Verde in a journey to learn about the ancient ones. The trail circumnavigates a slot canyon that is rimed with various ancient-one watch towers and ruins, and then the trail descends into the little canyon and back up the other side to complete the loop. Well-marked trail that is dog friendly.

Chaco canyon is amazing to me and this hike just added to that amazement, I am also to grateful that dogs are allowed on this hike. The trail ascends the bluffs overlooking one of the sites at Chaco Canyon-Pueblo Bonito. The trail ascends through a crack in the bluff, and while easier than the stairways (ladders really) built into cliff walls still a fun challenging little climb. Along the trail are great overlooks of the ruins in the canyon/valley below as well as a view of Jackson Stairway, an ancient one ladder up the side of the bluff/cliff. Really amazing to contemplate all of the activity that must have existed here back in the day.

Educational little hike right by the Washita Battlefield. The hike provides great insight to the prairie settlers home sites, as well as the importance of prairie fires on the growth of prairie grasslands. Along the trail there is an example of a settler home, which was more of a mud hovel. Also on the trail were three plots of prairie grass illustrating the impact of grass fires-the first plot burned in the last year, the second plot two years ago and the final plot three years ago with the plot burned three year ago being full and lush.
