I'm consistently surprised that Raven Run is a Lexington City park. It's one of the best city parks I've been too, if you're into hiking. The trails are short, but it is very convenient to town.
We go to Raven Run every year, in the spring, to see the wildflowers. This year they were fantastic, again. The trail to the overlook and grist mill were surrounded by a carpet of flowers.
Be aware that the trails close at 5:30. We forgot and had to cut our hike a bit short and only hiked four miles. There are certainly longer trails available.
I rated this hike as 4 stars, because of the crowds. If you're looking for solitude, Raven Run isn't your place, especially on the weekends. If you can go during a weekday or early in the morning, you might find yourself alone for a while.
The wildflowers really are amazing though.

The hike to Anglin Falls is short and easy. In the spring, the wild flowers a wonderful. After a rain, the trail can get muddy, but the waterfall is tall and impressive. When the weather gets dry, the waterfall is less than impressive.
Arrive early if you want to find a space in the parking area and avoid the crowds. This is a nice hike to take, if you're hiking the pinnacles and need a little more mileage.

Great trail, the water fall and arch are beautiful, especially after a rain. We usually hike a 10 mile loop. You can also hike to Princess Falls and Lick Creek Falls, making a 17.5-mile-long loop.

This is a great trail, with tons of scenery and views. The Rough Trail is a 8.5-mile point to point hike, or a 17-mile out and back. We chose to do the 17 mile version which is pretty strenuous. The trail goes down into valleys and over ridges several times, our elevation gain was around 6,000 feet.
This area can be very humid in the summer, and the rhododendrons obscure the views. Early spring allows for good views along much of the trail. Later in the spring would be great for seeing the rhododendrons in bloom.
It can be hard to find good camping along this route, but Parched Corn Creek has some excellent campsites, along its banks.
