Fascinating movie history here. Takes about an hour to do the loop, more if you wander the old movie set and TV show ruins. All shade after 6PM in summer. Saw lots of rabbits, baby lizards, and as it got dark, bats and a coyote. Parking lot closes at dusk.

The natural recovery from the fire is in full swing. For every burned shrub or tree, there are 100 new ones coming up, and there is green everywhere. New Manzanitas are coming up in so many places, and most of the burned Oaks have new branches and foliage, and some have flowers. I was so happy to hike through here this evening and see how beautiful it is, after being completely black just 9 months ago. There is some invasive mustard that needs to be cleared. ❤️

(4/25) Perfect mix of sun and shade. Underfoot there is a lot of poison ivy, thistle, and lizards. Long pants highly advised. Above that, bugs, wildflowers, rocks, fossils, and overgrowth. Overhead you’ll see and hear birds, squirrels, and see lovely shade-giving oak canopies.

This was a nice hike. Not much shade. Lots of bugs, especially in the shadiest places. Some of the trail is very narrow and overgrown. Lots of wildflowers. Some of the trail seems to be washed out and is a bit slippery.

Beautiful in the morning with all the wildflowers. Too crowded on weekend afternoons; get there early for cooler weather and quieter trails. It’s great to see the gradual recovery of this park from the fires.

With all the rain, there are streams and mud everywhere on these trails. It's a great place to hike on a nice cool winter or spring day because there is no shade after the fires. Lots of birds.

Nice hike, not many wildflowers yet but they’re coming! Not much water for a trail named for a creek! Nice panoramic view at the end.
