Mariah Rea Black-Hillman reviewed Mummy Spring Trail

a long hard all uphill hike with 3 experienced kids ages 6-14. some great scenery. There are two clearings that are amazing! We camped at one right before hitting raintree. The spring was dry. We went one week after a good rain, then it rained the night before we went and rained on us on the way back with some hail. Trails were washed out and slippery. Still a great hike. You can see the stratosphere at the 2nd clearing about 3/4 of the way up. It looked as small as a matchstick.

We've done this twice on bikes and would do it again any day or night. Perfect views of lake mead and the tunnels are great. At the end there a a restroom, water fountain, and picnic table with gazebo. Perfect first date destination.

not much hiking. You can almost drive up to the cabins. We hiked farther up and it was pretty. Some scrambling was necessary to go farther back.

beautiful scenery. We saw 2 antelope in the road that refused to move and later We spotted a big horn sheep right off the road. We checked out several trails that day. Great for kids. Don't go midday summer, too hot.

beautiful scenery, but not well marked. We never found the falls. There are a few petroglyphs and a really pretty bridge. Did this hike with two kids ages 5 and 7. This was their first hiking experience. They did well.

this was the first time I hiked anything like this. I felt accomplished! We took my 3 grandkids and my dog and they did fine. Gorgeous views during the entire hike. We even had some rain. At the flat area near the top there is a small flat area you can camp. Leave no trace and no camp fires. This hooked me on hiking! Strenuous hike for beginner, but so worth the pay off.
