Mai Nguyen reviewed Sky Pond via Glacier Gorge Trail

Did this hike Saturday July 7. We got to the trailhead at 530am and the lot was almost full. It took us about 2hr 45 min to get up and exactly 2 hrs to get down with a few breaks. We spent about 30 mins at Sky Pond. When we were hiking down, tons of people were going up. Tons. So glad we started at 530am because it was getting warm, although most of the trail is covered. Beautiful views going up and equally beautiful coming down. A really great hike. I wouldn't rate this hard, maybe moderate. Tracker said the hike is closer to 9.3 miles RT. Def recommend it!

really tough hike with lots of switchbacks. it took us almost 4 hrs to hike up and equally as long to hike back down. it's not 5.6 miles! It's 7 miles round trip per signs...when you get to the top, you can easily see that every step was worth it! amazing hike all around! Super steep! I died. legs were dead, and knees wouldn't even bend. couldn't walk for a couple of days. but I loved every aching minute of it.

really loved this hike. it's a relatively short hike with big payoffs almost immediately. it took us about 1 hr 15 mins to make up and 1 hr back down. we started at 7 am, stayed at the top for about an hour and made it back down a little past 10am. there were 2 other on the trail when we were hiking up. when we came down, saw another 10. this trail is so beautiful, it was a beautiful day, surprised not that many on this trail. I absolutely recommend it! you won't be disappointed!

we did this hike on Nov 4, 2017. we did the trail clockwise (via pinnacles trail) per recommendations and glad we did. I tracked the hike and it's about 12.7 mile loop. the hike wasn't too difficult. we started at 12:15pm and completed the hike at 6:20pm, with a few quick breaks and 10 min lunch. the view at the top made this hike worthwhile. glad I got to check this one off my big bend hiking list.

hiked here Sunday (8/20) with my 3 and 5 year old. it was a short fairly easy hike. they loved the pools. It's a nice short hike with an equally nice reward. be warned there will be naked people there. it didn't bother me nor my kids. we soaked for about an hour. pools range from hot to really really hot.

Started the hike at 730 am and got to Colchuck Lake a little before 10 am. The lake is beautiful aquamarine color, clear and refreshing. We had lunch and swam for about an hour debating if we should hike up Aasgard Pass (we didn't). The water was cold but not freezing cold. It was a great reward at the end of a long hike. My GPS tracker showed 4.7 (9.4 miles RT) from the Stuart Lake/Colchuck Lake trailhead.

at 730am the lot was already full. We had to park about a quarter mile down, but when we got back to the trailhead at 1:30pm, cars were parked over a mile from the trailhead.

Bugs didn't bother us much in the morning, but when we we're hiking back, they were out! Bring bug spray!

Beautiful hike! I wanna come back to do the whole Enchantment trail....next time :)

did this hike yesterday (Sun, 7/30). We got to the trail head at 7:30AM and there were a few cars parked at the trailhead. Started the hike at 8 and got to the lookout at 930. This trail starts going up, then down some, then just all up the rest of the way. When you get to Eunice Lake, that's where it gets a bit difficult. The last .9 mile up to the lookout got my heart rate up! The flies, bees, and mosquitos were out in full force. if it weren't for the bees chasing me, I'd probably take a little bit longer, but I was sprinting up to the summit. The views of Mount Rainier at the top was breathtaking. I also continued past the lookout to the peak. A little sketchy narrow hike, but doable. One of my favorite hikes. Must do hike in Mt Rainier NP. Bring lots of water and bug spray!

When we got down at 1130, there were cars on either side of the trailhead for a good mile in each direction.

Note: TH says 2.8 miles to Lookout, 5.6 miles RT. The side hike beyond the lookout was about another quarter mile.

hiked on 7/3/17. this was a nice hike with steady incline. there was still patches of snow on the ground, but not too bad, just be careful. you'll def get your get wet, so wear waterproof shoes. took us about 2.5 hrs to complete. blue lake was so clear and so beautiful. it was still partially frozen and snow covered and really cold. I took a dip and it felt amazing! would highly recommend this hike.

Did this hike the illegal/legal way. We didn't hop fences or walk thru anyone's yard. We started at 230am and got to the govt back road without incident. Followed instructions on one of the site we researched. Unfortunately, still got lost lost for an hour trying to find the bamboo forest. we entered a forest when we saw the first drainage ditch, wrong one. after any hr, we finally decided to go back out to the govt road and walk down towards the guard station and take our chances there when we saw bamboo!!! a little further down, noticed the drainage ditch that probably everyone comes thru. we entered the bamboo forest and made our way to the bottom of the stairs. The hike was great. Didn't see much hiking up as it was only 330am. when we got to the top, at 530am, there were people inside the antenna tower waiting for sunrise at 630am. it wasn't until daylight and the hike down did I truly appreciate the climb. it was everything I imagined it would be. the views from up top were breathtaking. everyone needs to do this hike once! 2 hrs up and 1 hr down, with lots of breaks in between. Legs sore for days after, but worth it!

ps sorry Lilinoe about your dog.
