Absolutely beautiful park. Get the full park map to get best view of the trails. Almost reminiscent of East TN in places. The fire tower is a gorgeous view & great lunch spot. If you go in spring, BE VERY SURE you've doused yourself with deet for ticks & your dog is on preventative as well. Even with the ticks, it's totally worth it. You'll love it, I guarantee.

I've hiked and biked this trail for many years. Enjoyable either way. Mostly bikers. On backside of trail when you get right behind that self storage place, look off the trail for the headstone of the couple who first settled the land. After that you'll also find a couple rusted out cars from the fifties off the trail. Happy trails!

Loved this trail. Did the full Eagle Point backpacking trail in 4 hours with lunch. We had a group of ladies from late 20s up through their 70s, so appropriate for all ages of hikers. Suggest going around the loop counterclockwise by Shelter 1 first bc Shelter 2 is the perfect lunch spot overlooking the TN river. Somewhat rocky in places & bridges are slippery when it's rained. Highly recommend adding this to your trail wish list. We all loved the trail. Not a bad drive from Memphis either. There's also an old cemetery just off the trail. Mossy section of the trail was like walking on carpet. Happy trails!
