Nice quick hike. Nothing special but you’re out in nature.

Beautiful hike. Worth it to keep going past the last bridge for the views. Be careful on the steep mountain with loose gravel!

Good tourist trail. Gets better and more adventurous with steep trail, rock, and gravel if you continue past the ending where the stream begins to thicken and people begin to sit on the rocks. Have to be careful going past that part though as the gravel is very loose, going down especially. Worth it for the views if not doing any other trails in the area. My biggest complaint is that there is no big sign saying don’t drink the water due to giardia. We didn’t see the small notice on the chalkboard windows of the visitor center until after the hike and after our dog had refreshed herself with spring water. Now she has diarrhea :(

3/4 of the trail is gradual incline and decline with some more steep parts. The last 1/4 of the trail is where it becomes more difficult and the gravel becomes more loose (especially on the way down!). Mostly shaded trail which was nice. There were parts of the trail that were not marked which should be to keep people on track. Once you get to the summit sign there are 11 red arrows until the top. At the top it’s a beautiful view but knats were everywhere so it was hard to stay long to enjoy. On the way down be careful to follow the trail. Ended up going down off trail to the right on this steep very gravely area before we realized this was unfamiliar territory. Overall it was a great hike! Perfect for those not totally in shape and acclimated to the altitude but enjoy a challenge. My mom said she did it in under 30 cuss words! Haha ;)

Our original plan was to do St. Mary's Falls trail but ended up on 7 bridges. Its pretty, easy and has a a lot of shade. After the 7th bridge the trail keeps going on the side of the mountain. This part is a think, loose gravel trail with a very steep drop if you slip so be careful! Felt safer running across this part of the trail than walking.

Probably one of the most beautiful sceneries I have ever seen. The first day we went there was a bit of a blizzard, but it still made for a pretty hike. At the lake and glacier the wind was pretty extreme so we only stayed up there for five minutes. The next day we went back on a clear day and although it was crowded it was well worth the trip! The most stunning views sitting at the lake and then when you climb up to the glacier the views will take your breath away. I absolutely 10/10 recommend this trail to anyone! The hike up is rocky but not hard, you just have to be careful of your footing.

This trail should really only be done if you have a 4x4 or jeep. We went in a newer pickup truck and survived but had to go extremely slow due to how rocky it was. Not sure how anyone can hike this trail as there is no where to park at the beginning or end. We were the only ones going up the trail. We had to park in the middle of the road and hope no one was coming up because there was no way our truck could make it up the rest. When we got to the lake it was a very beautiful site. Very worth it! However, they are doing construction by the lake so there is equipment and possible dangers for younger children.

Great hike with beautiful views. Gets your blood pumping in some spots but also has cool down areas. Didn't actually do the loop and ended up finishing on Arthur's Rock trail.. ended up being 2.5-3 miles. Only downside is we had to walk about a mile on the road back to the car, which we wouldn't have had to do if we stayed on the loop trail.

Well maintained trail that was heavily trafficked on a mid august Saturday (which wasn't bad because there was plenty of room to pull off and we got to see a ton of pups!). It was challenging at some points and easy at others. It is a mostly forest hike with trees all around. There are also rocky areas slightly off the trail that can be used for breaks and just to take in the scenery. We didn't do the loop, but instead hiked the first falls ( not very big but still relaxing and beautiful) and turned around to go back the way we came. Didn't feel like the trail for the loop was marked that well so we didn't want to keep going not knowing how far we had get, but we also could have just missed it.

I would not call this a moderate trail, it is more difficult than expected. Went in mid July. Steep, rocky incline for most of the hike. I'm physically fit and this was difficult for me. I hike it with an out of town friend who is moderately fit and she struggled with the steep incline plus the difference in altitude. Definitely not a beginning hikers trail. The scenery is wildflower meadows at the beginning then gets to be forest for a good majority until you reach the lake. We got rained on mid hike and it got pretty chilly, so bring a light jacket as a precaution. Going back down the mountain is also quite challenging as it is easy to slip on loose rocks and dirt. Would recommend walking sticks or some kind of aide for those who have ankle or knee issues.

Nonetheless, getting to the lake makes the hike worth it. It is a beautiful view and has plenty of areas to relax and take in the scenery.

P.S. DEFINITELY BRING BUG SPRAY. we used it aggressively.
