This hike is been on my checklist for a while and I'm happy I finally got around to do it. The hike up is a workout, but worth it. Plus the scramble up Haystack made it even more special.

This is a great park. The trails are easy and well marked with color coded shapes based on the length of trail you want to hike. The park itself is very busy on weekends.

Easy trails and great views. Very busy in the summer, though. Best way to enjoy it? Bring your lunch and picnic at Rosario Head, Vista point, or Lighthouse Point instead of the beach.

Great hike. Clear skies. I was walking on snow almost 1.5 miles into the hike. Going up was good with just my boots, but I had microspikes at the ready just in case. With a warm winter, this is still a busy trail. I got there to a full parking lot.

The descent was a little harder if didn't have any sort of traction cleats. Every one wearing tennis shoes were having a lot of trouble on the descent. If you plan on doing this hike while there's still snow on the mountain, buy yourself an inexpensive set of traction cleats. those will still work better than your tennis shoes alone.

This would be a 5 star trail if it wasn't so crowded. Can't imagine what the summer will be like.

Great trail, but very short. I live on the Island, so I walk the trail several times a month. There's several ways to get to the top with varying difficulties. The south side with the switchbacks is the most difficult and it's not an easy hike, but if you want a workout....

If you want to make the hike last a little longer, start at the West Point parking lot. The trail heads towards Deception Pass and you get a nice view of the water as you walk. Then you'll reach the bridge and start hiking up Goose Rock which ever route you choose.
