Not that much exertion for absolutely spectacular views!

Very pretty and relatively easy hike, with a beautiful payoff of the lake. We walked a short way past the lake and found an awesome place to sit and have lunch and look over the dropoff. We then walked on to the next little lake pictured, and found another nice perch over it, for a total out and back hike of 4.0 miles.

I couldn't quit smiling as I kept taking pictures and kept turning around for different views. I agree with a previous poster that this is the most beautiful hike I have EVER done (and we've just been in the same places - Yellowstone, Capitol Reef, Canyonlands, Little Wild Horse Slot Canyon, and Arches).

I went down Wall Street (going down on the steeper section and came out Queen's Garden - slightly less steep). After finishing this in less than 2 hours (even taking tons of pictures), I walked back from Sunrise Point to Sunset Point, and went back down Two Towers Navajo trail, to get pictures of Thor's Hammer.

So cool! This was my first slot canyon hike. Wow- loved it! Just went up Little Wild Horse until it opened out, and then turned around and came back (I was limited on time, and also just didn't want to do 3 miles in the sun).

We hiked it clockwise. Even though we ended in the long slog through sand on the primitive trail, we got to visit all the arches early with fewer people and better light. Fun and beautiful trail throughout. Really glad we did the primitive trail out rather than backtracking after Double O arch.

We hiked halfway down the trail and then turned around and came back up. I wanted to see this in the afternoon light, and it was pretty awe inspiring. VERY quiet, with few other hikers - blessed relief and great views to make you feel really insignificant.

The trail was right along the wall, and we walked up and back a fair bit, but I wouldn't consider this a "hike". Great for the vistas and taking pictures.

Wow! Tougher than I expected, probably because of the constant strong wind with occasional gusts that could literally blow you sideways. Up on top, it was really scary because of the strength of the wind. I don't have a fear of heights, but I was nervous at times, due to the gusts. The arch and the views from up there made you forget the climb. Awesome!

Even with a fair number of hikers on a Sat. morning, it still beats Arches NP for fewer people. Also, the cool factor of walking under and through the arch and knowing you're not bothering others or intruding on photos was priceless. Be sure and go beyond the arch to find the "hidden grotto" I called it. Super cool! I don't know where the previous poster who complained of mosquitoes was hiking, but there were absolutely no bugs in late Sept.

We went clockwise and even though we had to end in the tough slog of sand, it was great to see all the arches before a lot of crowds and have better light for photos. Yes, when you visit all the arches, the total distance is about 8.5 miles. Beautiful trail, even in the "primitive" part. I'm so glad we went ahead and completed it that way, rather than backtracking through all the crowds.

Beautiful! Thanks to all who recommended this hike. I'd call it closer to moderate with the steps, elevation change and uneven footing at times. I've never taken so many pictures on such a short hike!

VERY well maintained and marked trail. Glad we read reviews to know about creek crossings. In mid-late Sept., there were 3 of the nine crossings that you definitely had to cross in the water, but only ankle deep. The trail is easy enough to hike in Teva closed toe water shoes. You can easily hike in shorts without fear of bugs/ticks. We were surprised at how many wildflowers and butterflies were still present at this time of year. What a beautiful hike!

3.5 stars. Good workout but uncomfortably overgrown when wearing shorts (we'll see how many chiggers I end up with). Hubby was spiderweb sweeper. Glad we read reviews to know not to attempt the more overgrown larger loop.

I'm so glad we had the map and the GPS was working because it was ridiculous how many little cross trails there were, with absolutely no signage. Even with the map, we lost the trail a few times - not fun. It was mostly shady, which was quite welcome on this super hot and sunny day in early Sept.

Very easy walk/hike, but all the crossing of trails could be very confusing. You should download a copy of this map and carry your phone with you to track the GPS so you don't wander around on cross trails in a circle.

Lisa Jabusch reviewed Linville Falls via Plunge Basin Trail

When you're standing at the visitor's center, head to the left, following the red arrow. At 0.3 mi,, the trail to Linville Gorge heads to the left, but if you keep going straight, you get to the Plunge Overlook. Beautiful views in both places. Steep sections (and sometimes muddy when we went in late April) require you to have good knees and ankles for all the roots and rock steps. So worth it!

Gorgeous waterfall! After you cross the stream at the base of the waterfall, watch the trail carefully. (we did the trail counter clockwise, reaching the waterfall after 0.7 mi, and then proceeded on to finish the loop along the stream) There's a large downed tree across the trail and it's been cut through. However if you pass through this you'll quickly reach many blowdowns and scramble areas up and down the hillside (but no clear trail). Just before that cut through tree, the trail turns sharply right up the hill and you'll have no difficulty following it from there. Other than the waterfall, my favorite part of the trail was all along the tumbling stream.

The trailhead is actually at West Rattlesnake between mile 22 and 23 on BRP, coming from the south. It's not called Falls Branch trail, and the sign at the trailhead has no name or trail map.As you walk down the trail, you reach a junction, and luckily, someone carved "waterfall" into the sign with an arrow pointing to the left. That is correct. When we went in late April, half the time we were walking on rocks through shallow streams of water or mud that was the trail. It's definitely a moderate trail, given the irregular footing and steps, but it was fun and the waterfall was gorgeous. The trail must be absolutely stunning when all the rhododendrons are in bloom - they are everywhere!
