Snowing on our hike. Trees looked beautiful. Mild moderate rating. Lots of rocks on the trail. Spikes unnecessary. Serene environment. Only one other hiker on a Saturday.

Did this trail but included an extra loop up spring creek to Herrington to stout and back to the falls. Which ended up being a great distance to go. The views of the reservoir, Fort Collins and the mountains were incredible. Some snow in certain parts, but not enough to warrant spikes. It was beautiful, not hard and worthwhile. I would love to go back and see the rock.

Went back in October. Easy terrain. Long hike. Scrambling for a very short time near the end. Keep an eye out for the trail, but mostly follows the dry riverbed. Worth every step. Amazing view of the arch at the end. Only saw a small handful of people, which was awesome. Nearly silent, with only the sounds of nature. Top notch.

It was BEAUTIFUL in the snow. Don’t think it’d be anything that great without the added effect. Fine in hiking boots. Didn’t need spikes. Along an access road. Wouldn’t go back.

Great hike. Moderately trafficked, not bad at all for a Saturday. Well marked, but know your route for a few of the initial intersections. Beautiful views of the springs and into the hills. Cold in the shade. Light patches of snow throughout. Great length/difficulty level for a short morning hike.

Excellent hike. BEAUTIFUL views at the lake. Well worth the elevation gain. In the snow, definitely falls into the hard category, but seems like a moderate hike in dry conditions. Lots of snow here today. Nothing fresh. Spikes were very helpful. Would highly recommend them. Lots of snowshoers, but didn’t find it necessary. One or two points where I would’ve preferred them, but overall don’t see them as necessary for the hike in current conditions. Lakes were totally frozen over. Walked across them. Would love to go back in the summer.

Loved the hike. Short but strenuous. Beautiful arch at the end. Heavily trafficked even in December. Too crowded to really enjoy the end, but awesome view of the flatirons.

The views are spectacular. 360 degrees of beauty. You can see everything from Pikes Peak to Longs. Really windy and cold at the top. Snow and a little ice covered the trail (11/24). Mileage seems to be a bit off. I tracked it as about 4 miles. Beautiful, worth the trip.

Great hike. Very moderate. Totally covered in snow (11/21). Did it in my boots and was fine, but some spikes would’ve been useful in a few spots. Worth heading to the lakes along the way. Fog and snow made for some incredibly stunning views of the mountains. Windy by the lake, but worth the cold! Would love to see it in the summer.
