Still a little icy and snowy but a beautiful trail. This is our first time on this trail and we loved it. The partially frozen falls are super cool! We did both All Season Loop and Summer Loop extension. Trail is in good shape for this time of year, just watch the ice.

I read the reviews and thought, how hard can it be? Especially with an All Trails map! Even with a track to follow this hike is challenging and we managed to get off-course. Gloves are definitely helpful because of the rock climbing and possibly slips on loose rock. The view at the top is awesome and of course the bench and mailbox are super cute! But there is a lot of loose rock which I didn't enjoy sliding on during our descent. This was not only a physical challenge but a mental one as well. There was a lot of thinking/navigating involved. It is well marked with cairns, which proved to be very useful. My legs are scratched from rock and cactus but it was worth it. Beautiful views and a challenging climb!

OMG there was snow! This was our second time up Browns Peak but we didn't expect snow in March. As Canadians, we aren't afraid of a little snow and decided to go for it anyway and see what we could do. As usual, the views going up are gorgeous and the trail was in good shape. Scree Chute is intimidating enough without ice and snow, but with it...wow! Other people were coming down so we decided to go for it. With hiking boots and gloves we made our way to the top and back down again. It was super sketchy though. I'm glad I can say I've done it in the snow, but I don't think I'd attempt it again. Free climbing in those conditions is unpredictable and I'm just not sure it's worth the stress. Browns Peak is still a favourite and absolutely beautiful up-top. I will definitely do this one again, sans snow!

First time doing this trail. We came in from Mobile and it was a fairly easy drive. The trail is in great condition but definitely an uphill grind. On a warm day, start early and take lots of water! Absolutely beautiful at the top with a great view of South Mountain. Would definitely do this one again!
