Lexi Berger reviewed Bailey's Hot Springs

This is a commercialized Hot Springs that is closed due to renovation, not a wild hot spring. It is $8/person and is usually open 8-8 but again, is indefinitely closed for renovations.

If Nevada’s far-reaching hot springing culture has piqued your interest but you’re not quite ready to jump in with both feet, Bailey’s Hot Springs is a good place to start. Located just a few minutes out of the quiet community of Beatty, this Nevada hot spring draws its roots back to Nevada’s early mining days when weary prospectors flocked to the springs to wash their clothes, and a hot, reliable bath. Two bathhouses were built in 1906 that still remain on the property.

Soaking in a historic location like this is just one of the reasons that sets Bailey’s apart – that, and the fact that there are 14 RV spaces and hookups on site, making it the perfect road trip soak. Definitely swing by for a restorative dip on its own, or if you’re traveling via RV the hot baths are included with your nights stay. The property owners are also open to tent camping as well if you don’t have your rig in tow. The picnic table area is an idea spot to relax and enjoy the alluring southern Nevada desertscapes, or you can use Bailey’s as a launch pad for exploring nearby Death Valley National Park.

Plus, to make this an eccentric Nevada experience, the property owners have a small collection of exotic pets that roam the grounds. Expect to see peacocks roaming the grounds on your way in and out of the bathhouses. Peacocks accentuating a perfect Nevada hot springing experience? Sounds like quite the memorable soak, right?

I would like to clarify that this route displayed here is NOT the Rainbow Lake Trail. It is actually the Rainbow Lake Trail, then the Masontown Tail, then cuts off the Masontown trail to Bill's Ranch Trail, then meets back up with the Rainbow Lakes Trail. The actual Rainbow Lakes trail is just an out and back to the lake. Don't get lost people, this is NOT Rainbow Lake Trail ONLY!!!!! There is no loop as part of the trail. It is ONLY OUT AND BACK! You will see trail signs that say this along the way and will not match what AllTrails is saying. This incorrect info as a guide makes me rather irritated as many people get lost and stranded on Mount Royal for not using accurate information about their hikes. Trust me, I live at THE TRAIL HEADS! ALSO: I have suggest an edit of this trail which has not yet been approved. This comment may become irrelevant after edit approval.

Great for winter snow-packed trail running. Lots of up and downs. Great all year around trail but sometimes can be hard to find the initial trail after fresh snow if coming off the bike path.

This trail is NOT open yet. We had to park outside the first gate, which adds 2.5 miles onto your hike each way (bathrooms are still locked at the campground and everything is closed). The trail itself needs some hardcore maintanence to be done which hasn't happened this season yet. We ended up having to go over about 50 to 75 trees, some of which were in rather dangerous locations. Dogs should def not attempt this trail right now. It took us about 4.5 hours to do 11 miles. We ended up not finding the hot springs before it got to dark so we turned around at the river (about 1 mile from the campsite and trail to hot springs). Overall, I would not say this trail is not by any means 'Open' in April, as the trail had stated at this time of attempt.

UPDATE: The description has been updated to accurately reflect a better time of opening.
