Love it. Plan for 7 hours to the Bridge and back to parking. >11 miles not 8.9 as stated on All Trails.

Disappointing amount of graffiti at Hermit Falls. Well trafficked trail. Nice once you get off pavement. Can take the leg off to sturtevant falls loop back on the paved trail to add another 2.5 miles or so.

Great area and very pretty with some Fall colors. Popular place with lots of people. Sadly many don't know trail ettitquette, but we were impressed that there wasn't much (any) trash or grafitti for the amount of traffic. To get to the falls go past it, take the left fork to the creek and go left along the creek. Or take the right at the creek to go to Bear Canyon.

The direction button here takes you to Google Maps that will have you park in Bandido reservation only campground. This is not where you should park, and the camp does lock the gate early. Parking here added to the hike so we did about 4.5 miles. 1/3 a good climb uphill with good rocking and 1/3 on pavement. Excellent views and a lovely meadow at the top. Trail is mostly DG so it would be q good one for dogs.

Ended up taking this trail after exploring through the campgrounds and we couldn't find Half Knob or realized it was paved. Beautiful terrain and vistas. Saw a young doe. Only went a few miles in. Only knock is that it's hard to get away from irritating human noise due to the street racers (cars & motorcycles), campgrounds, and air traffic in the area.

Nice trail with easy access, some moderate climbs, and interpretative signs. 2 loops available: .3 or .6 miles. Park in the turnout/parking lot at mile 25.51 just west of Jenks Lake Rd. Combine with Whispering Pines Trail across the street and Jenks Lake Trail for a pleasant day.

if you take Google maps directions it will take you to the Jenks Lake parking area which is state run & costs $5, or you can pass Jenks Lake Rd. to park at Barton Flats Visitor Center & walk in by trail. we walked the entire way around the lake, not just the short paved section on All Trail. Our route was 1.25 miles. The lake rec area offer fishing, boating, vault toilets & picnic areas with charcoal grills.
