This is an amazing trail for people who truly like an active hike. It is part path but mostly rock climbs. This is NOT a casual hike or stroll down a nature path. You will get VERY sweaty and grimy. A lot of areas need hand holds to get up, so your hands will get dirty. The hikes are led by the owner of a dog shelter/rescue and he is amazing. You will hike with a pack of dogs, but they are very well trained and do not get in the way. There is no shade so bring much more water than you think you will need. And maybe some small snacks to keep energy up. Also lots of sunblock/hats/cooling towels as the sun is MERCILESS! You don’t need to be super active to climb up, but it will definitely be a challenge for sedentary people or those with mobility problems. The climb is steep and the descent can be worse, but the views are well worth it. The trail is not long overall, but the elevation change is significant. Overall, I loved it, but I am used to rocky climbs because I live in the Franklin Mountains of El Paso, TX.

Still a favorite. I love this quick, but challenging trail. I especially love taking visiting family members to the cave because it is unique with a great view. It also helps that the mountain provides lots of shade so a later morning hike is not the end of the world.
