Quick, easy hike. Only recommendation is if you’re staying at Seawall Campground, don’t walk to this hike, even though it’s very nearby. Cars drive very fast along the road and in sections there is almost no shoulder.

We did this hike in the rain, but still enjoyed it. The boardwalk section gets old, but the rocky section is fun and there’s great views the whole way around. People on the trail seemed concerned that our pup would struggle with the rocky section, but she handled it like a champ. I think most young dogs would be fine on it.

Very beautiful hike! Several falls or cascades along the way to offer beautiful views and awesome water background noise the whole hike. Go early though! The trail was pretty crowded with very inexperienced hikers who kept stopping to rest in the middle of the trail (and this was not just one group...at least every 1/3 of a mile we encountered someone who didn't think to step to the side while resting and still didn't step to the side when we tried to go around). Our fault for not starting as early as usual.

Other reviews say use poles. The trail is very moderate with no snow. Poles aren't necessary at all. Water, sunscreen, and shoes that can get a little wet/muddy will get you through this hike no problem.

A quiet trail that makes you forget you're right in the city. I like to run this trail. Closer to 6 miles. Almost 7 of you add on the loop by the 71st Street entrance.

Very quick little hike. It was a steeper hike than expected but we still made it to the lake quickly and without issue. Snow is melted off the trail entire now so nothing slick. Great hike if you're looking for something easy, but I'd save your $5 on parking...not the most exciting.

Very easy hike up to the loch. There's also a waterfall en route that's pretty incredible with the snow melt. We did this on our way up to Sky Pond. On the way back down the trail was a lot more crowded but with families. Lots of kiddos hiking this one no problem. Would definitely recommend as a hike that offers a lot of cool views without a ton of effort.

This hike starts out pretty easy and gentle up past the loch and through about a mile afterwards. The worst part is the waterfall right before Lake of Glass. You have to make your way up a pretty steep snow bank and then climb up the side of the waterfall. Wasn't overly difficult but definitely nerve wracking. I got shakey knees from looking at the climb, but once moving it wasn't as bad as it looks. You can also sit down and slide down this section on the way back. My fiancé and I both did and it was an absolute blast! Trail got pretty slushy and the hike up the the loch was crowded on the way back. I was so glad we left early so neither of these were too bad. If you have microspikes or poles, I would strongly recommend them. We hiked in just boots, and it's doable but would have felt more comfortable and safe with a little better equipment.

We did this today as a recovery hike after some pretty difficult ones the last several days. Very rewarding views without having to put in a whole ton of effort to get to them. We hiked in just boots (no poles or microspikes) and it was no problem! There's snow, but the trail is so well traveled there's easy foot paths through each snowy section. Only advice would be go early! We started around 8:30 and the trail was getting very crowded with people headed out by the time we finished.

The other reviewers weren't kidding, the first mile of this hike is difficult. The wind was also pretty intense at 9 AM when we hiked it. The views are incredible though and there's very little snow right now.

We hiked this from NCAR, making it about a 6 mile hike. The first half is very easy, until you get to Fern Canyon. After that it's pretty steep and technical for the next mile and a half. The hike itself hard but doable; however, the bugs at the top make you want to immediately turn around and head back down rather than enjoy the summit. We were looking forward to sitting at the top and relaxing for a little bit, but headed back pretty quickly to get away from the gnats!

Great hike with beautiful views. We hiked it in December. I would recommend microspikes in the winter time. We did without, and it was doable but slow and required some extra caution.
