An incredibly challenging hike that boasts views for days and a grand sense of accomplishment! You have the option of hiking up to the saddle or up to the summit. The saddle provides gorgeous views of Lake Wakatipu, and this is a good spot for new hikers to stop. Summit should be hiked with proper boots (for sturdy support). This trail is accessible from the gondola, though you can also catch it from Tiki Trail.

Well, if you want a challenging hike, you found it here! Due to the climate of this region, expect this trail to be very wet - several mud bogs to cross over, plus slippery roots and four creek crossings (with slippery rocks). You can see some amazing flora and fauna here, particularly birdlife. Give yourself plenty of time: the sign posted at the trailhead is full of lies (2 hours one way is optimistic). As much as it was a challenge, it was one of the most memorable hikes I've done. Bring spare socks to stay dry!

Beautiful loop around Upper Kananaskis Lake. On a clear day, you can enjoy all the beautiful shades of blue/green reflecting off the lake. Fairly flat terrain. This area can get quite busy in the summer with boaters/SUPs, so try to arrive early for parking. Note: On this trail, you pass by the start point for Mount Indefatigable, which is unmaintained grizzly bear habitat. Keep a lookout for bears - we saw some scat on the trail.

Short and sweet hike up to the stunning Rawson Lake. Those up for a challenge should continue on up to Sarrail Ridge, a fantastic lookout point on the saddle that let's you soak up the views of Upper and Lower Kananaskis Lakes (as well as Hidden Lake). Highly recommend boots and poles for Sarrail Ridge - steep grade and particularly challenging when conditions are tinder dry.

Apparently, the trail to Rawson Lake is also great for snowshoeing!

Beautiful hike to Lillian Lake and Galatea Lakes (Lower and Upper). Took roughly 6 hours round trip, which included a picnic break at Lillian Lake and snack/water break at Lower Galatea Lake. Poles may be helpful when hiking on the scree, but otherwise a great moderate hike. Note: this area is known for avalanches, therefore expect to cross avalanche debris on the trail.
