Laura Haller reviewed 1st and 2nd Flatiron

Tried to hike today but the trail is closed during the day Monday-Thursday for trail maintenance. I completely missed the signage until I got up to the trailhead. Make sure you go after 4:30 p.m. or on the weekends.

Drive this road at different times of day, drive from both directions, and stop often to take pictures! This is one of the best drives in the country!

This is a superb trail! The falls are beautiful and the views are even better. This hike is for everyone!

St. Mary's falls are so lovely, there are plenty of places to sit, and there's an adorable bridge.. The trail to Virginia falls isn't super well marked but keep going up, it's worth it!

We took the shuttle for this one because parking is limited and it was a good choice! The trailhead for the shuttle is even a bit closer than the parking lot which is nice.

This was a trail that we were really looking forward to do but it was still snow covered on July 1st. It's open but it's best to do in good hiking boots and poles. We still walked up a ways and played in the snow but didn't do the whole trail. If you're planning to do this trail plan your trip for late July or August.

Hiked this trail our first night in the park around 6pm and it wasn't overly crowded. During the day it does get very busy though.

It's a fairly easy hike up to the lake with a few steeper hills. The lake and waterfalls were gorgeous but our favorite was the creek that ran beside the trail. Even if you don't hike all the way to the lake you should take the trail a short distance off the trail of cedars to be rewarded with the views of the creek.

Carry bear spray if you go early and late in the day. The people behind us on the trail saw a bear.

This trail is one of the higher rated trails in our guidebook but we thought it was a bit overrated. You have the option to take the trailhead from the Many Glacier hotel or take a $25 boat ride to cut off part of the distance. We would recommend taking the boat if you're able.

The trail is mostly flat but pretty overgrown most of the way. Highlights include: wildlife, a really awesome suspension bridge, fun plank trails, cute and convenient outhouses.

The boats leave at specific times throughout the day and fill up quickly. We recommend booking ahead of time!

We hiked in July 2017 and there was a bridge out near the end so you'll have to ford the water. There are plenty of shallow places to walk in the water but you'll want to take off your shoes and be prepared for cold toes!

Best photo opportunities are before the sun gets too low in the sky. Try to hike before mid afternoon.

We missed these falls on the St Mary's fall hike so we decided to walk the less than half a mile from Sunrift Gorge to check it out. The trail was a bit overgrown but the wildflowers were gorgeous. There was a cute bridge over the water. We were pleasantly surprised by how beautiful the falls were. Although not as pretty as St Mary or Virginia falls but it's worth a quick stop on a longer hike.

You have to go when the tea house is open! That's what makes this hike! We went later (got to the tea house just after 4pm) and it wasn't too busy. Seems like it's best to do this trail early or later ( just check the tea house times) as it's heavily trafficked.

The trail is entirely uphill but there are plenty of features to keep the trail interesting and give you a minute to catch your breath. There are neat views of Lake Louise, a small lake to stop at, and a waterfall!

The teahouse is so lovely. You can sit inside or outside. The staff are super kind and helpful. There are many varieties of tea. We had scones and jam which was great, but everything looked good. Be sure to bring cash (American or Canadian)!

The easy trail is accessible for small children, older folks, or anyone who needs an easier option.

You should absolutely take the more difficult route if you can. We took the more difficult route up and really enjoyed it. The trail is not technically difficult or very strenuous but has a lot more variety. There are streams, rocks, and even a waterfall near the top. We took the easy route down and we wish we would have taken the difficult route down as well.

The lakes are beautiful and fun to walk around. Don't miss the stairs to the second lake. There is also a cool view of rock climbers from the upper lake.

Beautiful waterfall, easy trails, the Parks Canada chairs are the best view. Walk down the trail for multiple photograph opportunities or just to feel the mist from the falls! Worth a short stop or lunch break with a view!

Laura Haller reviewed Moraine Lake Rockpile Trail

An easy trail to the most beautiful view of the valley of the ten peaks and Moraine Lake. In my opinion it's even better than Lake Louise. There are lots of places to move around, take pictures, and enjoy the view. In the morning there is a great reflection of the mountains on the lake too!

In the summer the parking lot fills up quickly and rarely opens throughout the day. We arrived at 7:40am and it was already packed. Try and arrive before 8am before the parking attendants get there so you can snag a spot or wait for someone to leave. There is no Park shuttle to Moraine lake in the summer but there are private tour buses.

What a fun hike! The boardwalk suspended over the canyon makes this hike special. At the lower falls you can walk through a cave to a viewing platform right below the falls... you will get wet! On the way to the upper falls there is a cool secret cave you can hike off the trail to. It's a great way to get a different viewpoint and escape the crowds. There is a viewpoint at the bottom and top of the upper falls. If you time if right you'll see a rainbow in the falls

This short jaunt off the ice fields parkway is worth a quick stop. You hike downhill to a bridge and canyons filled with gushing water. Many people hike off trail to get a closer look. Only downside is the walk uphill to the parking lot.

Believe the reviews that say "up, up and up." It's a continuous uphill trail with the most difficult stretch at the end. The 360 views are insanely amazing! Worth the uphill climb. It took us 1 hour 18 minutes to get to the top and about 1 hour 5 minutes to descend.

Get there early in the summer to avoid the heat and bring plenty of bug spray. The mosquitoes were pretty intense in places. We just kept moving to avoid them.

Definitely worth checking out the hot springs after even if you're already warm! There are cold and hot pools and the cost is $6.50 a person. You can rent towels and swimsuits there too.
