Wasn't into the section where you bump into all the people strolling off the tram for a leisurely walk.

    Well worth the effort!
The hardest trail I've done so far. Great training for bigger challenges. My favorite trail and peak of the 6 packs. Will be back again! Took our 2 dogs and they are slumbering for days now, mission complete!

Beautiful hike, it was #dingsontribe 's first time on this trail and the beginning to our 6 pack challenge, turned out to be one of our favorite hikes so far! It's crowded, and I see why, absolutely beautiful hike. We dipped in the fresh stream, because of the rains the streams and falls are flowing strong. We have been used to hiking in blizzards and snow, and we found this mountain to be very warm. I didn't need to put my jacket on all evening. I found parts of the Sturtevant section very difficult as a person afraid of heights. Sections of that trail is extremely narrow and the drop immediate and steep. Ugh. We completed this hike with 2 of our trail doggies, even the narrow sections at Sturtvant was fine for them. One thing to pay attention to, in addition to the Adventure pass and getting there early because parking fills fast, the road closes at 8p. We took our sweet time to enjoy the mountain and started heading down the road to exit the mountain entrance and the gate was locked! We had to call the police station, whom both the dispatcher and officer were very nice, and wait for 30 mins for the gate to be unlocked. A minor inconvenience, but when you're tired it sucks. They come to the gate every hour, so just be aware of that. Don't forget to try and find the Mt. Wilson wood sign on top, somewhere on the observatory grounds and snap a picture, a camper told us we had to otherwise it didn't count. ha! by luck we did. Happy hiking!

We took this on the way home to supplement our hiking weekend. This is like a hike in the neighborhood. Good gains over hills. We arrived after rain and spotted huge animal prints along the trail we assumed it was a mountain lion. Pretty cool

I don't know where in the world we were at. This trail head is the start of many other trails, and it is a hunt trying to find this one..... Although the GPS from All Trails said we were on the right path, nothing in this description noted bouldering. Where ever we were we ended up scrambling over many boulders, although it was fun and we continued without question..... it seemed the further we went the more challenging the scrambling got as the boulders became huge huge walls of rock. We accepted our fate and lunched at a nice secluded spot with a cave.... We always have a good time, but not sure if we were on the right path.....

We did this hike because the hikes we came here for were snowed in. This loop was very easy, steady elevation climb the entire way - so the elevation you're gaining doesn't feel much of anything. This trail follows a truck trail the entire way, and features a tiny stream crossing. There were no people other than us, very nice. At the back of the loop, the views of the mountain range is magnificent!

We visited this trail in between storms. So we couldn't ascend to the top to complete the hike, we were not prepared for the 6" of snow which occurs after the first ascent. With that said, what we did hike was moderate. The hike was increasing elevation at a steady pace, nothing crazy. Beautiful views of the desert, cool rock formations. We didn't stay to long as snow flurries started to fall and it was cold.
