    September Tuesday, afternoon
The directions to the trailhead from AllTrails in Apple Maps takes you literally to the start of the trail. It is a gravel road that continues into private property. I parked in the neighborhood just before and walked a short distance to the trailhead and began the hike.
The trail wasn’t too crowded. I saw 2 other day hikers and a handful of NOBO PCT hikers. The trail looks to be recovering from the 2017 Gorge Fire pretty well but watch your step for exposed roots and keep an eye on some of the burned trees (especially on windy days). Some of the soil is looser than expected in the rocky parts but definitely doable. I’d recommend a trail runner at least if not a hiking shoe/boot.
The trail is easy to follow - just stay with the PCT signs when you get to the construction area.
The falls were lovely and created a nice, cool breeze. I say on the edge of the concrete bridge and admired it for a bit.

The lake is beautiful and worth the stop on its own if you’re in the area.
Limited parking at trail head, had to circle the campground a couple times before I was able to get a spot. Didn’t see too many people at the lake.
Short, well maintained path through a meadow and to the lake. The lake looked like kool-aid and is crystal clear! There is no swimming in the water - at 34° you would go hypothermic in no time so I don’t know why you’d want to.
It’s a short walk to the PCT and connecting trails around Timothy Lake. You could easy turn it into an 11ish mile hike by adding the Timothy lake route to your plans.

Easy hike with lots of water features. Went counterclockwise from the trail head. No booklets were left to purchase as of 8/5.
Not too crowded but it could have been because the wildfire smoke was rolling in. Lots of plants, streams and stepping stones. Quite a few bees.

This trail has ALL OF THE STAIRS! I think the sign at the trailhead said something like 97 up and 120 something down...
I was a little disappointed to find that the trail takes you to an observation deck. To get down to the falls, you have to climb over the metal fence and railing to a steep, rocky path that is not part of a maintained trail. The way down looked doable if you have good balance (I watched a group of 5 do it) but I’m not so sure about getting back up. I didn’t trust myself for the descent or ascent so there was that.
The view from the observation deck is beautiful and there is a bench.
The parking lot has a lot of garbage and toilet paper in the trees and bushes despite there being one vault toilet available for use.

Short and easy hike to great views of the phantom ship. This hike has ranger led hikes in the afternoon and is wheelchair accessible. Pretty smooth gravel path with lots of “pull over” spots and a few benches. I agree that is should be rated easy instead of moderate.
