Short but sweet. The falls are beautiful and the hike is relatively easy. That being said, this might not be the hike for those with trouble walking up and down steps, or up/down hills. The trail has a decent slope most of the way, with steps in portions of the trail.

    Great for kids and adults.

This is a stunningly beautiful hike! Reaching the falls gives a sense of accomplishment and the journey to the falls seems like Narnia. It's a peaceful, seemingly untouched area that takes some effort to experience. With that being said, take into consideration that there is a log jam that must be traversed before the real beauty is revealed. The log jam is not overly difficult, but can be disastrous if not taken seriously. When crossing it, take your time. Plan out your own path and don't blindly follow others. It helps if you have a dry pair of shoes to wear over the log jam, and please don't try it in flip-flops; I saw plenty of people doing so, and cringed just watching it.

The walk up the creek is relaxing and relatively easy. Oddly shaped rocks and the water combine to add slight difficulty to the walk, but nothing to be scared of. Much like the log jam, take your time and be mindful of your footing. At one point, you will have to wade through water, likely chest deep. I've found its easier to go through the center as opposed to hugging the sides; it's often deeper and more rocky/uneven along the sides.

Over all this is an amazing hike; not to be missed if you are capable of overcoming the obstacles that keep Oneonta falls the secret beauty that it is!
