Did this one a couple months ago and loved the challenge. Was even better the second time as I knew what to expect. Took 3 hours motoring pretty fast. It is difficult - long, scrambling, inclines. But not impossible. It's nice how it repeatedly challenges you and then evens out for a bit. Eat a good breakfast and bring lots of water. I went through 3L. Worth the beer and view at the end!

A beautiful hike! The trail is clearly marked - no snow now. It's a nice incline without murdering you. I like that there's outhouses in a couple spots along the way. The scenery is gorgeous with little peek-a-boos as you climb to check out your progress. Be prepared to scramble a little over boulders near the end of the climb. Fantastic view of the lions at the top. Went mid-late afternoon but few people were on the trail. Will go again!

I love this trail! Don't get discouraged by the switchbacks at the start. Once you get past them you'll be rewarded with gorgeous forest and a nice mix of incline and level ground. Fantastic view. Bring water and wear hiking boots - not runners. It does get a bit mucky at the top and you'll thank yourself for wearing them when coming back down over so many slippery roots and rocks. I hauled and made it up and back in just over 3 hours. But keeping a good pace you can do it in 4.

A lot of incline and loose rocks and dirt - it's slippery so you're gonna wanna make sure you wear proper hiking boots and bring water. Though it does even out between sections and makes the hike not too difficult. The way down is a bit technical because of the loose debris and roots - take your time. Poles would be useful. Make sure you stop at all 4 lookouts before you hit the final bluff - they're gorgeous and it's a neat way to monitor the view during your climb.

Spent an hour yesterday trying to find the trail head. Couldn't. Drove and walked back and forth along Millstream Rd and even walked up some big hill that looked like it could have been the start, but ended at a big pipeline thing. If anyone can post a photo with the entrance or directions on where to find it, that would be amazing! Would love to try it. Thanks.

Note: Not really out and back (take the $15 Gondola down - too dangerous to hike down), and it's 7.5km one way, not 11 out and back. But it's super beautiful and super difficult. Bring plenty of water & snacks and wear good hiking shoes/boots. There are some seriously challenging sections involving scrambling up steep, loose rocks/boulders, chains and ropes to pull yourself along steep embankments, and lots of ladders and inclines. But it's also the most beautiful hike I've ever done. The terrain changes so much and the top of Shannon Falls is gorgeous. Lots to do up top - eat, grab a beer, throw axes, and there's lots more trails from there if your body can handle it. Tough but rewarding as hell :)

This trail has very little incline but is about 18km in total considering the parking lot is shut down right now -have to park on the street and hike in along an easy path/boardwalk. The trail itself has some scrambling. A good amount of rocks and roots. I can barely move today though due to distance. May have been a slightly long hike for our unconditioned bodies so early in the season. I think we'll both be sorry today. I was sorry last night. Hahahha took everything I had to peel myself off my bed and take a shower and make dinner. #WorthIt

It's a trail to try.. and then drink beer at the top in the restaurant because you just climbed nature's stair-master, following a long train of people the whole way up. I do this trail once a year and then I'm over it - it's cool to do. But there's much more scenic and rewarding trails around town. With less stairs.

One of my favourite early season trails! It's easy, fun, and quick and has no snow. It felt good to get back into nature after such a rainy dark Winter. It was just delightful! I recommend going during the week or early on weekends to avoid crowds.

So fun! It's a decent length to St Marks Summit which is where we stopped and turned back. It was very muddy so bring proper hiking shoes/boots for stability and so you don't wreck your runners. Bug spray is also helpful, especially towards the top. There's some steep inclines and nicer small descents to break things up. I'm excited to try this again later in the season when hopefully it dries out a bit more. Lots of people later in the day so go early to avoid crowds.

Not difficult but it is longer. We actually meant to go to Lynn Peak but went the wrong way. Oops! We had lots of snacks and water though so we decided to keep going. There's a beautiful waterfall at the end as your reward. Incline is minimal and the length makes for a great day hike. Took us 5 hours to do it return.

Omg. This was a tough one. But a great one. It's a steep incline to get to all 3 peaks - I only made it to the first 2. It took about 4 hours or so. The trail is very well marked though and nicely maintained. I'd never used ladders, chains to pull myself up, etc... Before so I felt kind of badass. Highly recommend you bring lots of water and proper hiking boots for both the comfort of your feet and to not slip on roots & the smooth granite surface at the top. Will definitely be back to get that third peak in the future.

I love this little hike! It's close, easy and frequented enough (gets pretty packed - go early. Especially if driving because parking in Deep Cove is limited) that I often go on my own just for a little workout. It's quick and fun and a great view of deep cove at the top. Bring some fruit or something and enjoy the view!
