Kristene Enloe reviewed Floras Lake Waterfall Trail

I was a little turned around. Walked along the lake and connected with the Oregon Coast Trail. Although the trail didn't appear to be old growth it had the expected mossy, damp, drippy fern feel I love. The trail seemed more like an old logging road it was so wide. I could hear the waves but couldn't see them. Atone point the trail veers of to the right but I missed it. I double backed and found another sign for the OCT and took it. It went over a couple of foot Bridges and then dumped me on to a beach. The trail then becomes overgrown that I turned back. Sounds like I should have pushed through to make it to the waterfall. Oh well.

Half of the trail has steps unevenly spaced...those are always hard on my knees. The beach is beautiful with lovely, large rocks in and around the water and beach.

This was a beautiful hike. Pretty easy hike in but definitely a lung burner on the way back for moderately fit person. We crossed at least 4 creeks/waterfalls. One was a little dangerous but I felt fine crossing. We took an alternate route back since we didn't want to get our feet soaked again. Sometimes the trail is an old logging road, sometimes a hard packed dirt trail and sometimes a bit rocky.

March 8, 2016. Just hiked this section along with the upper and lower Sacramento ditch portions of the trail. LOVED it so much! Very few people out today due to light sprinkling rain. Trail is pretty well marked with only a few confusing sections but we never had to back track. There is an outhouse at the Quart Hill trailhead but it is down the path a bit and not readily visible from parking. Lots of horse manure but we didn't see any. Concrete benches at periodic spots along the trail to eat lunch. This looks like a great bike trail as the path isn't too riddled with rocks and most of the bends aren't too sharp.
