This was a super fun and easy trail! We went early in the morning and it was very chilly at the top, so definitely prepare for that. At the top, you can see two ridge lines; make sure you descent to the correct ridge line it’s easy to get them mixed up! There was a little bit of snow but it was mostly melted.

There was a nice view at the top and there were lots of cool rocks and things to see all the way up. I definitely would recommend this hike! It’s a great trail for if you don’t want to drive all the way to Tahoe but want to do some good hiking!

We went on a hot day and it was not worth it. It was hazy and the view wasn't anything too exciting. The best part was all the fun critters we saw along the way! There were so many ladybugs, lizards, rabbits, and birds. That was super fun to see!
We went counterclockwise; we went up the service road and down the actual trail. Going up was fairly easy, but going down was way harder becuase the actual trail was more up and down whereas the service road was straight up. If it wasn't so hot it would have not been too challenging of a hike.
In terms of water, there was a water spicket about halfway up and at the top so that was helpful.
Pretty much no shade, wear a hat, bring lots of water bottles to fill up at the top you'll go through them all.
To get to the summit, it ended up being 13.8 miles and 3,698 feet elevation gain.

It was pretty all the way up with a great view of the lake and the south lake mountains. However, the last 1.5 miles there wasn’t much to see. In comparison to other moderate hikes in the area (such as Maggie’s Peaks), this one was definitely on the easier side of moderate. The trail was very well maintained and there was no snow!
