2nd Loop is a must and a decent workout and easily to follow awesome views to the top, only 3 stars due to massive amounts of Humans, started at 6:00 a.m. and only started seeing them on the way down

I went the Full 7.5 miles to the top and its a Tale of two trails. The vertical gain is brutal the last half and you gain almost 4500 feet in those 7.5 miles With over 650 feet of gain a mile its a great work out and i was training with a 25# pack.
The 1st half of the Trail is pleasant shading at trimes and fun creek crossings, the only bummer was the Cows and that SMELL, kind of ruins things, but better cows than humans and i saw none of those, the last half of the trail there are no cows or sign or smell of cows and you can smell the big trees that are now dominating the trail, the fun part as you get sore and tired is the trail keeps getting better and better with every step and you just have to keep going, and the Meadow at the top is very nice.

Very demanding trail due to hardly ever used and often bushwhacking, but that has its rewards, This winter lots of small streams, wildlife and no humans. if coming from the 33 after about 6 miles thees is a Weird clear cut take that right and you will end up on one of the most spectacular cliffs and pools on the sespe. just wear long pants, long sleeves and brush often for ticks, The treerain is amazing and all so diffrent.

This trail is called the Boulder Canyon Trail, This site is wrong
Few Trees Down, need to get on hands and knees to crawl under a couple times. make sure you have a GPS no markers along route and easy to stray on wildlife trails, Wide range of Trees and brush make this a fun tral and 3000 foot gain in 4.5 miles adds the workout, The center of the trail is the highlight and well worth the walk and the reason for the trails name.
