We went on October 27th, 2018 and it was snowing and windy the whole way up. Crampons or microspikes required! It cleared up a bit by the time we got to the ridge, but conditions were bad enough we didn’t risk going all the way to the summit. Would love to do again in the summer!

This was one of my first scrambles, absolutely loved it. We had to bush wack through the trees in summer 2017 to get to the peak, be aware of where you exit the trees to the scramble so that you can eventually find the path again (we were not that smart and got lost briefly in the forest). The views from the top of Midnight Peak were incredible, I’d love to do it again.

Smoke sucks! My friend and I completed this hike in 2 hours 45 min (moving time). Smoke burned the lungs a lot on the way up, and at the peak the smoke was nearly opaque. It was good exercise though and a fun hike despite the disappointing lack of views. From what we could see, we could tell the views would be stunning without the forest fires. Do this hike when it clears up!

Fun little hike! Did this after work on Tuesday night on August 14, 2018. It was quite smokey and we couldn’t see a whole lot, but the terrain is interesting and straightforward for the most part. As mentioned in some of the other reviews, it’s easy to get off track by following one of the other small trails that intertwine with the main trail. We ended up having to traverse a nearly vertical rock face. It was grippy enough to scale with decent hikers and your hands, but try to stay on the main trail. It took us about 3.5 hours all in, but we didn’t do the loop due to weather concerns. Just to the peak and back down the way we came.
Someone bring more paper for the peak log! It was almost out when we were up there ☺️

I am head over heels for this mountain. Such a fun scramble with incredible views and short ridge walks. It has a bit of everything, grassy valleys, forested trail, hot (warm) springs, and great elevation. We saw a grizzly so bring bear spray! It was far from us so we weren't too worried but be aware. Moving time was approximately 8 hours taking lots of photos, breaks, and time to take everything in. I highly recommend this hike to anyone who loves scrambles and scree skiing!

Hiked this trail with my dad and our friend from Ireland! He'd never done a hike like this before so it was a great first experience. When we reached the chain it was sleeting, made for a sketchy crossing. The scree ski on the way down was a highlight!

Absolutely stunning valley. I did this hike with my dad in October 2017 and it was beautiful with yellow larches scattering the surrounding mountains. Highly recommended for anyone who loves the mountains but doesn't love heights.

Fun little hike! My friend and I did this as a 'second dayer' and it was a good workout. Great views at the top of Canmore. We hiked this during the Folk Music Festival and we could hear (very quiet) music at the top. Took us 5 hours (moving time), not very technical but very fun!

This is one of my new favourite trails! Don’t underestimate the low(ish) elevation gain, the views are stunning! You spend a brief 30 minutes or so climbing the mountain and the rest of the hike is a beautiful, easy ridge walk with incredible 360 degree views. My friend and I did this hike in 3 hours and 20 minutes with intermittent jogging. Do this trail!!!
