Was sad to see the damage from the avalanche on Bear Creek trail. Hike was awesome...weather was cool. Trail is very rocky and steep in parts.

Strenuous and stressful along the last stretch to top because of steepness and loose rock. Beautiful views.

Always enjoyable every year we visit....
a great “first hike” of our visit to get acclimated to the altitude. Loose rocks make it a little challenging. Trees still turning, so views were gorgeous!

Kathy P reviewed Devils Garden Loop Trail with 7 Arches

What an AWESOME hike!!!!! We had a great time seeing every arch (felt like an adult playground!). We started around 1pm-ish and did the trail counter-clockwise (seemed like most people did it clockwise), so most of the arches were toward the latter part of our hike. Seems like most people missed/chose not to do Private Arch, which is a shame, as it was one of my favorites. The hike was mostly in the sun, so take plenty of water (and snacks) and wear sun screen. You need to be in reasonably good shape and not afraid of heights, as parts of the trail take you up/across rock fins. Cairns were a huge help, as well as the occasional arrow drawn on rock tops, as it can be easy to drift from main trail.

Enjoyed the hike. Short and worth the effort.

Enjoyed the hike, however the trail was not well marked, therefore it was a little challenging. Trail is sandy and rocky, but no incline, thus the “easy” rating. Parts of the trail were a little overgrown and there are cacti in spots, so if you have a dog or a small child, beware.

Enjoyed the hike and scenery. Trail is marked with arrows and cairns, so was able to reach the “trail ends” sign with no issues. We left around noon-ish, so the hike was mostly in the sun...wear sunscreen and take plenty of water. Breeze helped, but still warm.

Hike was okay, but because of the burn, was a little sad. Lake must be well stocked, as we could see several trout from the shore.

Nice hike...aspens are starting to turn. Did the loop counter-clockwise, as previous reviews said it would be easier on the knees. If we lived in this general area, we would try to do this hike daily (great exercise).

Awesome hike. Was windy/cooler at the cabin, so dress in layers. Cabin is GREAT! Special “THANKS” to the US Forrest Service and volunteers (a couple of which we actually ran into on the trail...they had just finished staining the railing on the porch) for constructing/taking such good care of this place. Was fun to read some of the graffiti on the walls and entries in the visitor book. Views are great...fresh snow on several peaks. Definitely felt the altitude (we are from Texas). Did the hike on a Monday (started around noon) and only saw 8 other hikers.

Enjoyed the hike on this cloudy, windy day. We did the tunnel last visit, so decided to do the lake and was not disappointed. We had lunch when we reached the lake (take the less traveled path to the right when walking down to the lake to avoid crowds). We saw the lone duck, a goat (up high), and a buck moose when we were leaving the lake, heading back. Great views...moderate-to-easy hike in my opinion.

Probably one of my favorites! Beautiful scenery! Ran into a small herd of big horned sheep on the trail...also saw mountain goats (up high), a grizzly (way up high), and several marmots. Started at St Mary Visitor Center (parking lot was full, we had to drive around the lot for a while [thank you Michigan guy], so plan accordingly)....hiked to the chalet, then doubled back, as we got a late start and knew by the time we finished the shuttle would no longer be running. Very windy on the vistas, so take appropriate clothing. Face got a little wind-burned, but totally worth it!

Kathy P reviewed Timpanogos Hike To Emerald Lake

BEAUTIFUL HIKE! Was strenuous, but the various waterfalls you pass and the views from the top are worth it. Lake level was low and not as grand as I imagined. Very little shade, so make sure you take plenty of water and sunscreen...recommend poles, too, as trail is very rocky and steep in places. Wild flowers were beautiful! Saw a herd of mountain goats sunning on the snow.

AWESOME hike! (Probably one of my favorites) Weather was slightly overcast, steady breeze, and temps were cooler, which made for perfect hiking conditions and no mosquitos. Loved the lakes....the view from the top is magnificent. Was surprised by the sand on trail toward the top....was steep in places, so glad I took my poles. Wildflowers were beautiful...we also saw a momma moose and her cubs, deer, and chipmunks. Not many people on the hike...had the summit all to ourselves. Highly recommend.

Cave tour was AWESOME! Well worth the hike up. We carried a small pack and a light jacket (which I ended up not needing, although cave was cool). “Mac” was our guide...he did a great job...kept things interesting. Hubby and I got up in 40 minutes...it is steep in parts, but is paved the entire way.

Gorgeous views at the top of Jordanelle, Heber and Midway. Pretty flowers and an occasional chipmunk sighting. We hiked it mid-afternoon; good mixture of sun and shade. Trail is well-marked. No bikers. You will not be disappointed.

Okay hike. Water fall was pretty, but didn’t think views on the way up/back were anything special. Went mid-afternoon and there was plenty of parking. We were told by other hikers there was a rattlesnake on the trail...we did not see one, but did hear what we assume was one off in the bushes, so be careful. Also, a boy (hiking with family) said he was stung by a bee...one circled my husband when we reached the falls, but luckily no stinging occurred.
