This is a simple hike and it's fun to go into one of the tubes. A short hike, but you can connect to other hikes to spend more time in this lovely park.

Kate Gilbert reviewed Observation Point Trail - Zion National Park

Angels Landing is considered one of the star hikes in Zion, but I think this is just as good, if not better. It is not as crowded, and for those who have some issues with heights this is not as scary as Angels landing as the ledges you hike on are wider. You also get considerably higher and get just as stunning view down the valley from the top.

I have moderate fitness and I found this tiring but in a very rewarding way. It is quite challenging as the incline is pretty steep and relentless apart from a brief respite in the short canyon section in the middle. What I love about this hike is that it changes multiple times from wide open switchbacks overlooking the main valley, to closed in canyon, to being surrounded by beautiful scenery that you don't see from the main valley floor.

It took us about 5 hours, with a 30 minute stop for lunch at the top.

Anytime spent in Zion National Park is never wasted. The scenery at every turn is wonderful. This is a busy trail which is why it loses a star, but it is hard to argue with people out enjoying the outdoors.

The lower pool is actually the best i think because you can walk under the water flow and feel the drops on your face. The middle ppolm is more a puddle, the top one has the big waterfall and lots of rocks to scramble over.

To make the walk a little more interesting (and slightly less crowded) you can get off at the Grotto bus stop and walk back along the Kayenta trail.
