Redwood Regional is a beautiful local hike with plenty of shade and clearly marked trail signs. I love that you can bring your dog, and everyone on the trail is so friendly. Also, keep your eyes peeled for ladybug crossings! I've never seen so many ladybugs clustered in one spot before.

This hike offers some of the most amazing environment changes. One minute you're in a forest, the next you're in a field full of wildflowers. The signs posted can get a little confusing, so I'd definitely recommend snapping a pic of the trail map or visiting the State Park office to get one of their printed copies (there's one located at the beginning of the Steep Ravine trail). Be sure to bring plenty of water, snacks, and sturdy shoes!

This is a nice local hike that allows dogs off-leash. There's minimal to no cover, so wear sunblock and bring a hat. Also, because of the cows you will more than likely encounter your fair share of pies and flies. I would recommend this trail if you're looking for a good spot to run your pup. It is best hiked in the winter/spring months when the fields are lush and you don't have to worry about the heat.
