Had a blast! Jogged up in around 40 minutes
Jogged down the stairs in 32. Out and back in 1:12 hour(s). The stairs vary in steepness and height so it’s tricky to run down, I learned from watching other people to turn sideways. Take breaks, wear sunscreen and drink lots of water

Awesome views of Colorado Springs! I’ve hiked most of the trails around Cheyenne and this is the best view of the springs. Option to park at the top of Cheyenne canyon and walk or park along old stage road to extend the length of your hike. The rope is a little sketchy but it seems study for now. There’s a lot to climb once you get past the rope! I would highly recommend this hike

AMAZING AMAZING HIKE...but the miles are off for this trail. I agree with Doug Hess below, my Apple Watch showed 17.8 miles round trip for this hike! We were not expecting to go twice the number of miles for this hike but it was well worth it. The trail is hard to find (especially on the saddle) I’m guessing we meandered off and ended up off trail for better views of the lakes. I went with 2 other fit college students and we made our way out and back in around 7 hours with breaks and food.
Bring warm clothes, sunscreen and lots of food
It’s a long way up there. The switchbacks in the midsection are brutal on the way up and down I highly recommend poles and hiking shoes that don’t squish toes on the way down.
This hike is hard on the knees, and it’s exhausting. Worth the views!!

Went up with my 70 lb dog today. Saw lots of wild life. Tougher but very doable hike
Wear sturdy shoes and bring extra water

Amazing hike. Trust the GPS. I’ve been exploring Cheyenne canyon all summer and mount kineo is a hidden gem. This is the first hike I’ve had to “record” on all trails to stay on track, I recommend pro+a predownloaded map for this hike. I didn’t keep a close enough eye on my phone during the hike and I ended up getting lost once on the ascent and another time when I started to come down from the summits I attempted once before I summited today, but was unable to discern the 622A/667 split during my first attempt.
Today I left an “arrow” made of sticks pointing to the trail on mount kineo..hope it stays there for a little bit! I will provide a photo

My first 14er! Got to the lot at 7:28, we were surprised that it was only 28°...bring extra layers. We thought it was a little bit longer than 6.9 on Apple watches clocking at 7.28 (not including a section we forgot to track at the beginning but we did meander near the top). We had my one year old dog on leash, he is about 70 pounds. We made it to the top but the boulder field near the summit can be hard with a dog on leash. We would definitely do this hike again, so beautiful with wildlife, flowers and it will get your heart bumpin!
