This was a good hike but definitely not moderate the entire trail. There are many challenging uphills but the last 1 1/2 miles is a killer! Be prepared with water, food and definitely keep in mind the time change if you hike in late fall. We were just getting back to the car after the sunset. The view was epic!! So thankful for the beautiful skies and weather. We started at Smith Rock so the total was 15 miles. I definitely wouldn’t bring a dog.

I really like this trail. Just the right amount of challenge and spectacular views!! It was a little brisk when we started. The wind picked up a little too. Definitely pack layers. You’ll see a sign saying “end of the trail” but there is another 2 1/2 miles of trail to explore. Gorgeous back there with some steeper inclines. Worth the extra time. Broken Top seems to be in reach when you go all the way back.

What a great trail! Off the beaten path which I loved. The trail loops around and leads down to Wychus Creek which is spectacular! One helpful note... to stay on the trail that leads down to creek there is a sharp right turn about 1/8 mile before the sign for Wychus Creek. It’s not obvious but it’s marked for horses as well. Thankfully another hiker told us about it.

This was by far the hardest thing I’ve ever done! I’m so stoked to say I made it to the top. This is absolutely not for beginner hikers. Be prepared... plenty of water, a day’s worth of food (you won’t believe how many calories you will burn) and layers of clothing. We hit all the elements on this one. It started out sunny but the last half we hit 35 mph winds and low visibility. At the top there were snowflakes and icicles on our clothes. I highly recommend packing gators so dirt and rocks don’t get in your socks/shoes. I can’t stress enough about packing your trekking poles. Sooo glad I did it!!

Wow!!! This is an incredible hike! Waterfalls, a creek, the lake and stunning views along the way. I didn’t use trekking poles but saw many who did. Moderate hike. I will definitely hike this trail again. Bring plenty of water.

This trail is just off the main highway. You’ll be tempted to just take pics at the bottom of the hill. Take the time to hike to the arch. The view up there is so beautiful, especially in the morning hours.

This has made its way to one of my favorite hiking trails. This is a moderate hike that includes navigating rocks, some climbing and crossing the creek several times (and sometimes there weren’t rocks to walk across so wear good hiking boots). I hiked alone but saw about a dozen people during the entire hike. There are some small signs and cairns along the trail to help keep you on course which I was thankful for at times. The arch and natural waterfall forcing its way between two rock faces was worth it at the end.
