This was our second time hiking this trail. We were here this same week (second in Nov) last year. This was a huge difference because this year was colder and there was a lot of snow. As mentioned by many the first leg, the incline, is hard on the lungs. Especially for those of us who are “flat landers”. Once you get past that, it is less difficult. Snow does make it more challenging as well but it is worth the hike. We continued for about 30 minutes past Eagles nest and turned around. We could tell it was not traveled as much. It was not crowded but when we encountered anyone it was usually dog owners with very friendly dogs. Happy hiking!

We wanted an “easier” trail close to Frisco and we chose this trail. We went up the ridge trail and it was STUNNING. As for easy it would probably be more like easy to moderate because there is some incline and a few rocky areas. We laughed because we were the only hikers without dogs! It took us 2 hours with stops along the way to take in the view. Loved it. But I am easy to please.

Went hiking with my sister and Aunt. We are all over 50 and “then some”. This was a great hike. The beginning mile or so is uphill and rocky but once you get to the flatter land along the water it is much easier. We are here in Nov so there was snow to contend with. One particular area later in the hike was snow covered and the most challenging. We did the hike in a little over 2 hours. We turned around at some fallen trees and our total hike was about 5 miles.

The hike took three of is about 2 hours but we stopped to talk to fellow hikers and take in the wilderness. There are bridges and planks to cross over streams. Rocks to maneuver as well as some inclines. We saw scat and hoof prints but no wildlife
It was a very nice hike. We are female hikers. Two in their 50's and one VERY fit and active 73 year old.
