I hiked this today with a 3-year-old, 4-year-old, and one other adult. We did the first 0.9 - 1.0 mile of the trail. The first 0.4 mile of the trail was easy, but then it was a mixture of hard and moderate. It was a good thing we had a one-to-one ratio of adults to children as we had to help the littles up rock faces, steep declines, and rocky, steep inclines. The portion of the trail we hiked, was fairly easy to follow, but I did double-check ourselves against the map in the app a few times.

Another reviewer mentioned a waterfall and pond 1.0 mile in. Perhaps we didn't go far enough, but we saw no pond and no bigger waterfall than all the others we saw along the way.

Overall, this was a great hike. It was beautiful. We enjoyed being by the creek and seeing the plant life. The variety (and even difficulty) in the trail made it interesting for the adults and the little boys.

I did get several mosquito bites, but I wasn't wearing bug spray. Long pants weren't needed for the first mile of the trail. If I had my waterproof shoes I probably would have explored a little bit more, but they weren't needed if you stayed on the trail.

There was no parking lot or sign.

I hiked this with my 3-year-old, two 4-year-old, a one-year-old and three other adults. We hiked 1 mile in, and as other reviewers stated, this part of the trail was moderate, not hard. Other than the beginning of the trail, it was shaded and followed along side a creek, although it was mostly dry. This may be fun to do earlier in the summer when there is water in the creek still. We took the advice of others and wore bug spray. I definitely saw more bugs the higher we got up the trail. They mostly didn't bother me.

Be aware the there are many, many side trails. We definitely would have gotten lost if I hadn't been watching the AllTrails app to make sure we stayed on course.

It was an interesting hike for the little boys and had beautiful plant life and scenery. We would love to do this one again.

I hiked this trail with several kids ages 3-7 and a few adults. We did about 1 mile and then turned around. We liked the plant life and wild flowers. There were many trees along the trail, but not much canopy, so I imagine this may be a hot hike on a hot day, but it is up the canyon, so that probably keeps it cool. The beginning of the trail was fairly wide and easy to walk on. A ways in the trail for steeper and had a “rut” in the middle filled with small rocks, which made it easy to slip.

Overall, we enjoyed this hike and wouldn’t mind going farther next time to see what else there is to see.
