Easily the prettiest trail I’ve hiked since I’ve been in MO. The falls are very relaxing but probably much more impressive and photogenic when it isn’t so dry. I spent most of my time climbing around the rocks to look in all the little pools. The trail can be a little difficult to navigate, so I can see why people sometimes need to be rescued. Just keep an eye out for the blazes- the trail is sometimes swallowed up by the rocks. I also went to Devil’s Tollgate from here and was able to run a good portion of that part of the trail in my trail runners that I should have swapped out for my actual hiking boots. Wear stuff with good ankle support!

Very peaceful, I was the only one here. Pretty much all up hill on the way there, but the plus side to that is that it’s pretty much all down hill on the way back.

I got stood up for a date by a guy, but not before getting some recommendations on places to hike. This was one of them. These rocks are really cool, so it was worth it. Joke’s on you, guy!

Beautiful scenery with frequent changes in elevation to keep it interesting. Be aware if you are planning to go on foot that this is primarily a mountain biking trail. This is a great trail to see wildlife. I think I saw more deer here than on any other trail I have hiked. Also, I deeply regret not wearing bug spray.

This is a beautiful hike, but is also a popular hike. If you are looking for quiet you may want to time your visit. The view is great, I would love to come back after the leaves are gone for better visibility of the river. Fun change in elevation at the beginning, plenty of benches and overlooks for those who need a rest on the way up.

One of my all-time favorite hikes! The falls are beautiful and in warm weather it is nice to walk a ways in the river above. The bottom is smooth stone and can get a bit slippery, so if you decide to try this, do it at your own risk. You may slip and end up soaked.

The museum alone is worth it! Great historic site, nice walk. Some stairs if you want to go to the top of the mounds, but other than that it is pretty accessible to everyone.

Beautiful area! The trails are not very long but the hills a very steep, so you get a great workout in a short distance. The trails are paved, but in steep areas it is still a good idea to be cautious. Lots of wildlife to see and the nature center is pretty cool too.

Gorgeous! I walked this trail the week of Thanksgiving 2017, so there was plenty of snow. There was actually a surprising amount of foot traffic considering the weather. The trails were a little treacherous with the ice that formed from the waterfall spray, so I don’t recommend going in the snowy seasons unless you are pretty sure-footed. The snowy falls made for some really beautiful photos though!

So pretty! I hiked this short trail during the week of Thanksgiving 2017. There was quite a bit of snow and the falls were beautiful! I can’t believe of all the times I have been to this area I have never made this quick hike. Very flat, easy, great photo ops. Only saw one other person there, I am guessing it is pretty deserted once snow starts falling.

This is a nice, level trail, no major elevation changes. Probably the most peaceful trail I hiked today. Definitely a good place to let your mind wander!

Easy trail with a lot of offshoots to explore. Not really as peaceful as some of the other trails. I would love to come back in the winter to ski the cross country trails!

This is a quick, easy hike and it is nice to be able to get up close to the waterfall. I arrived a little after 1100 on a weekday and was able to have the view to myself for the most part.

Looks like something in a storybook! Pretty easy hike overall, just watch for rocks and roots waiting to turn your ankle.
