A very enjoyable hike! We went to Indian Falls first (totally worth it!) and took a break before climbing Tabletop. A nice hike with a good view of Mount Marcy.

We hiked Esther via the ASRC in April. So we skipped her on our climb this week. That being said, our Esther hike prepared us very well for the Face. We took it nice and slow up Marble. After Marble, we progressively picked up our pace. Took a nice break at the ski lift before making the final push to the summit. The summit is pretty great... The hordes of tourists that drove up there.... Not so much.... Regardless, a very fun hike! A bunch of ravens were circling the summit!

Justin Schultzyschultz reviewed The Dix Range to Macomb and Dix Mountain

We Hiked up the Macomb Slide and went on to do South Dix (a scramble) & then Hough. Really awesome 3 peak day hike. I loved the variety of this trail! Great views pretty much the entire time! They call it "un-maintained..." But, if that was true, then who's been out there cutting through the blowdown? Someone certainly has. Definitely a blast & would climb them again!

My daughter (7) and I really enjoyed this hike! The trail was really easy to follow (you do need to pay attention for the cairn to cross the brook - we had no issues spotting it). No technical or difficult climbing is involved. An easy climb for us.. These mountains do have some nice views - you just need to put in a few extra seconds of effort to find them. It was pretty hot, we drank regularly and had a lunch on each summit to keep our energy up. When we got back to the Loj, my daughter took a quick refreshing dip in Heart Lake. That's how you finish a hike!

As others have stated, it's a good idea to bring a GPS & map - even though the trail is obvious. Some people on here have complained about bugs and mud... So what!?! Those are the things you face hiking in the Adirondacks!

Justin Schultzyschultz reviewed Upper & Lower Wolfjaw Trail

We didn't take a trail up Lower Wolfjaw... We took the route with an amazing view all the way up. Bushwhacked to the Range trail just below the Summit. We were only planning on LWJ... But, since we were on the summit before 11AM, we decided to tag UWJ as well. Upper Wolf's chin is pretty mean. The summit of UWJ is pretty great!

Great hike with my 7 year old daughter. We started at South Meadow. Walked to Marcy Dam & then up Phelps. Wonderful weather and a very nice view. The trail isn't very demanding but it's pretty beat.

Justin Schultzyschultz reviewed Cascade Mountain and Porter Mountain via Cascade Mountain Trail

I only did Cascade this week as I did it and Porter last year. Great hike. I went on a Wednesday and had the mountain to myself. I highly suggest going mid week as opposed to the weekend. I also suggest that if you're planning on doing this trail, then do it now (2018) as it is highly likely that DEC will be moving the trailhead in the near future... turning this into a 10 mile hike.

It was awesome being alone at the Summit and watching the clouds roll in from the Great Range.
