First time visiting the park. I came in the morning to run the trail with my son and it was as a nice 5k loop with changing scenery, the coastal Redwoods were a highlight!.
$3 to park and plenty of parking. The park has access to water and clean restrooms and if you take people that didn't want to go on the trail, there's plenty of peaceful spots and playgrounds in the park.

This is a "stop and smell the flowers" path. Don't rush through, pause and read the signs, there's some interesting facts to learn. Its more crowded towards the beginning but it does thin out. If you go with kids have them talk to the Rangers before you start, they might have interactive activities for them.

Nice open park with options to go around the perimeter or through the trails. Some areas are "leash free" for dog owners. I had to take the run down to the end of the Berkeley Pier.
Interesting fact: the whole marina area is built on a landfill!
Have fun and enjoy the sites

Looking to get some local hill training in? I like this spot. Nice views too. There's different route options (other fire roads as well as trails) to add distance but this 4 mile route is a good "go to" route. Bring your water, camera, and if you do venture off the main road, know where you're going and bring a printed map because phones may have difficulties with signals down in the low areas.
