As of 05/04/19, trail covered by snow from high camp to summit, keep an eye on your gps or AllTrails map to make sure you don’t go too far off trail. Doable with micro spikes, crampons would probably be better but micro spikes were all I had, I used them on the way up and put them away on the descent.

Great views from beginning to end. Plenty of water through 80 percent of trail, no water past high camp.

I found the fist mile to be a pretty relentless uphill but the remainder of the trail was pleasantly gradual which is great considering the length.

Give yourself enough time if day hiking this trail, it’s a good amount of mileage and you’ll want at least an hr at the summit if weather permits; the summit is huge and you can spend hours exploring the high alpine environment.

04/23/19. Trail is in great condition. There are multiple ways to summit Mt Wilson, you could even start and end at the summit if you like descending first.

Spring is in full bloom on the trail. Creeks and waterfalls everywhere. It’s definitely the best time to do this trail, summer would probably be too hot.

I would recommend hiking during the week, from what I hear, it can get really busy during the weekend and might be impossible to find parking at chantry flat.
