This is NOT a moderate hike. It was definitely difficult! However, it was a great workout and a beautiful lake. We picked some huckleberries up there too!

A dry hot hike in the summer with a lot of full sun. I recommend doing it on a mild temperature day. Pretty steep and narrow at the beginning.

It was a challenge but we ran into gemologist who told us about all the garnets in the river. We found a full bag of garnets! The hike was fun for the kids and when we arrived at the lake, it was beautiful! The rocks have garnets all woven in.

It was beautiful but entirely too busy! I have never seen so many people on a trail! I felt like we were in downtown Seattle.

Four miles along the river with beautiful views and a very well maintained dirt trail. It is not well marked and there are no signs. You have to travel about 14 miles and the road turns to a dirt road. Keep going and you will hit the parking lot.
